Matt Denn seems confident
Indeed, most of the organizations interested in a yes outcome in the vote this afternoon in the Senate seemed to be guardedly optimistic. I dare say if the outcome was truely in doubt the Lt. Governor would not be posting a status update like this:
To guard against complacency, there is still time to lobby Senators Bob Marshall, Bethany Hall Long and Cathy Cloutier. Encouraging emails or calls only please. Find their contact info here.
Whip count is 100% solid.
Marriage equality wins today. No Doubt. A great day in Delaware.
So, are Marshall and Hall-Long likely yes votes? Cloutier?
Marshall and Cloutier are apparent yes votes. With them, Marriage Equality passes with 11 votes. I am still not sold on Hall Long being a yes vote. It seems to me she will vote present or not vote altogether. But it will be a very pleasant surprise if she does vote yes. And those in the know say they have 12 votes, so I suppose she may vote yes.
Awesome news! Can’t wait for vote.
Marshall is my Senator. When I emailed him on this, his response was that he was voting yes.
Good. The reason I included Marshall is that he has voted negatively in the past on this issue, though he has changed his mind on civil unions, and he had not made a public declaration of his intentions like McBride and Bushweller did.

And that is good news on Marshall. He is my Senator too and did not get feedback on my calls.
You can also follow along at the Twitter hashtag #DE4M.
By the way, the action starts at 2 pm.
