4 Hour Warning: The Official Delaware Omnibus Prediction Thread & Contest

The only thing we have to fear…

…is the official Delaware Omnibus Prediction Thread and Contest.

We still need to hear form blogger illuminati, so I’m going to keep putting this at the top until (you know who you are) makes his/her picks.

Read on for rules and such.

Rules: Simply copy the list below the fold into the comments and put a “W” or a “L” next to each name.

Guess the national % of the popular vote total for Obama/Biden at the end for a tie breaker and for a double tie breaker put the number of electoral college votes Obama/Biden will recieve.

This thread will be closed for comments one minute after noon on MONDAY 11/3

– so that is your deadline.

Prizes: First place gets a trophy and a plaque to be awarded at the Blogger Banquet in Feburary. Second place gets a copy of Al Franken’s “lies and the Lying Liars who Tell Them”

Good Luck!

  5. El Somnambulo

El Somnambulo says that, if there is a Blue Tsunami, here are 3 bonus upsets for you:

Paradee over Thornburg-The well-liked Thornburg has run a leisurely campaign; Paradee has run an energetic one.

Williams over Valihura-Valihura appears to have been caught off-guard by the (very) late-starting, but fast-closing Williams. And D’s now have a significant registration edge here.

Stafford over Bonini-One of this cycle’s best D candidates must rely on strong turnout to win, but it’s doable.

And the other result of a Blue Tsunami would turn most of the Beast Who Slumbers’ R legislative picks to D.

  6. El Somnambulo

If there is a Blue Tsunami, keep an eye on 3 possible upsets:

Paradee over Thornburg-The well-liked Thornburg has run a low-energy campaign, in contrast to Paradee.

Williams over Valihura-Valihura has been caught napping by the (very) late-starting and (very) fast-finishing Williams. The registration #’s should scare Valihura as well.

Stafford over Bonini-Only a narrow D edge in District, but Stafford is one of the best D candidates running this cycle.

  15. 40% think KWS is going to win. I’m surprised it not the inverse.

With this blue wave and 90% of Delawareans will entering the voting both never having heard of either candidate, I don’t like Brady’s chances.

I’ll get in after 2:00pm when Randy and I do our picks on air.

  22. FSP // Nov 3, 2008 at 9:18 am

I’ll get in after 2:00pm when Randy and I do our picks on air.

Umm…Dave, you’re my bud and all, but I’m laying some smack down on you for being a lazy reader…
This thread will be closed for comments one minute after noon on MONDAY 11/3

That means when the little hand is pointing at 12 and the little hand is just so slightly askew to the right of 12, these comments close.

You may think you own Jason, but nobody really owns Jason. Not even Jason owns Jason. Then again, who’d WANT to own Jason?

  23. Dave can do his after 2:00. As a Republican he is used to people bending the rules for him.

Why should I be any different?

  24. FSP

Hey, thanks. And in return, I’ll invite you to appear on air today at 4:00pm with Randy to discuss your predictions.

  25. I assume you mean Nelson and not me, as you still haven’t figured out the multi-line dilemma.

  26. smyrnadudette

Thanks Joanne – I mean that sincerely – I hope you don’t hold my last pick against me!

  30. Jason, how the hell are you going to tablulate this all? This is going to take you days if not weeks with your budding computer skills. 😉

  31. Unstable Isotope

    lg,

You need to fix your 10th Senate:

    10th Senate
    Bethany Hall-Long (D) W
    Jim Weldin (R) W

    That would be very unexpected!

  32. Yikes. Let the record show that LiberalGeek believes that BHL will win.

  33. Nemski,

Don;t worry. I have a counting stick with 3 sets of 24 notches in it. Each group of 12 notches equals a “goonza.”

And they laughed when I developled by base 12 counting system.

    Who is laughing NOW BITCHES!!!

Are you serious? What are your leads here? Do you think NCCo will be that tilted?

BTW, my picks are locked, so I can’t change, but from what I have been hearing among blogs and chatter lately, Dave Wilson (35th House) does appear to be coasting in, over Chaffinch.

  36. Joanne Christian

May all those who seek to serve win
And all those who serve to seek lose…..

    You can quote me!

That’s who I think will win. If I need to do a list of who I want to win, I can do that, too.
