Delaware Wages Decline is 5th Worst in the Nation.
Wages in Delaware have dropped by nearly a dollar for low-wage workers since the Great Recession. With the minimum wage hike of a dollar by the middle of 2016, Delaware’s workers would get back to where they were in 2009. 7 years. No wage growth. All the while the wealthy in Delaware have never done better. Record profits and record shares on all income. And yet God forbid we dare increase their taxes a cent.

Yup, they’d rather increase the gas tax to hit the same people who have been hurt the worst by the economic struggles. Not exactly the progressive ideal.
The closing of the Chrysler and GM plants dropped thousands of family incomes by tens of thousands of dollars. As much as it is easy to whack MNBA
, those are thousands of great paying jobs that BoA eliminated after the purchase.
Add to this a recent report from the Delaware Food Bank stating that 244,000 of our residents are on some form of food assistance. In a state of less than 1 million residents this is appalling.
What is unique to Delaware that conspires to prevent it’s citizens to thrive relative to our neighboring states?
Speaking of Bank of America, remember the day they announced donation of the mega-charter building, they also announced they would add 500 jobs. Anybody know if they followed through with that?
We can turn this around by giving Charlie Copeland another tax cut.
