Burn…
NEWARK, DE – The Executive Director of the Delaware Republican Party, John Fluharty, just p—ed a b—r over this tid-bit.
Mayrack’s LinkedIn profile summary states that the candidate has “extensive experience in all aspects of unclaimed property advising.” However auditing itself—the primary job of the State Auditor—is not mentioned a single time.
Tom Wager has the word auditor on his linked in page, but it is enclosed in quotation marks.
I’m Delaware’s “auditor”

I vote straight democratic most of the time but when it comes to Treasurer and Auditor, I tend to vote on the conservative side…. Wagner has not done a great job so I’ll vote Mayrack but I am without a doubt a Simpler guy
10 vacant positions out of 30 total. The office has deteriorated to the point where it can only audit the Tappahanock tax ditches and Markell’s credit card. I vote mostly R but its clearly time for a change.
I would like to know why Tom Wagner didn’t pick up on the financial short comings of Sussex Tech.
He has been auditor since 1989. 19. 89. Let that sink in to all the conservatives to bitch and whine about “career politicians.”
The vacant positions is a key point. Wagner keeps saying he can’t do the work b/c he doesn’t have the staff. Then he lets 10 positions sit vacant. Then, when a couple of those positions revert b/c he hasn’t filled them in years, he cries that staff is being taken away from him when, in fact, HE NEVER FILLED THE BLEEPING POSITIONS.
Fact is, we haven’t had an auditor for 25 years. The taxpayers have been fleeced simply by having tax dollars pay this guy for those years.
BTW, still looking for the ‘countless’ millions Wagner claims to have saved the state. Where’s the meat, Tom?
Suspendered disbelief indeed.
I heard his office found a some low level secretaries have been using 10 extra pieces of paper they didn’t need costing the state an extra $14.00 a year and now the state has a new policy regarding paper use. They hired a contractor to teach courses on efficient paper use and require the course in everyone’s performance plan. They also have a $100,000.00 RFP out to develop software to track everyone’s paper use.
lol, mouse.
It would be nice to have an independent auditor ideally someone not connected to the party in power. Wagner is just another good old boy making just enough noise to keep his name in the press.
He found lots of small picky things that the poeple in charge can terrorize low level employees with. But no accountability at high levels.
