So perhaps somebody, you know, in government (other than a State Dept spokesperson) can come out publically and call this what it is, state-sanctioned medieval barbarism.
It’s easy to dismiss the Charlie Hebdo massacre as a the work of a few maniacs, but it isn’t. There is something very rotten festering at the core here. If the Swiss Guard were flogging Catholic dissenters in St Peter’s Square I feel like people would call it what it is.
Perhaps I’m dim but I fail to see the fundemental difference between the rationale behind those two disgusting pigs in Paris and the Saudi goverment. Insult and dissent are not tolerated and are punishable by violence.
