Another thing I don’t like about “Wha!-conomics”

Filed in National by on December 6, 2008

Republicans bitch and moan to high heaven if god forbid you want to spend some tax money on making sure sick people can get meds, or some kids get hot lunches – but they can take on 100 billion bucks in debt in the blink of an eye to bail out their gambling buddies on Wall Street or bomb the crap out of some random country.

    Not this Republican.

  2. cassandra_m says:

They are apparently quite unhappy to think about how one raises revenues to pay for the taxpayer wealth they insist on transferring to their buds, too.

  3. Joanne Christian says:

But would it have asked too much for the family to “check in” with the company for an update, or the company to call. These drugs are THOUSANDS of dollars, so there are some realities here. I’m sure there is more to this story, and it isn’t party based.
Isn’t that nice they provided six months worth? Free. Delivered to the door too I bet. Such nasty people. Why would anyone want to live in the U.S.?

  4. FSP says:

Are you trying to set a record for most erroneous sweeping generalizations in one day? Cause your getting close. Should I call Guinness?

  5. Joanne Christian says:

Honestly Dave, this is getting to be a bit much. What gives? Do you still have one of his “Hot Wheels” or something? Give it back, if it belongs to Jason.

  6. FSP says:

I have no idea. He just snapped one day, and now he’s making no sense and tossing sweeping generalizations around hoping one will stick.

  7. jason330 says:

    Dave,

How long have we been at this? Are you really saying that you are not included in the post as one of the practitioners of Wha-conomics? Really?

Dude you invented it in these parts. You are it’s biggest booster in many many ways.

    JC –

I see your response in the thread below and I have to say that the deal is off. Dentists are back in, paying full price to ensure the blessings of liberty provide for the common defense etc.

Give you guys an inch and, oh man, you are off to the races.

  8. I think it’s funny. This is what the blogosphere should be about. I don’t read this shit for knowledge. For that, I read books, journals, newspapers, etc. Blogs should be entertaining, IMO, and that’s what the good folks at DELib provide!

  9. Unstable Isotope says:

Many republicans think that some people are more worthy than others and that things like welfare means you’re taking away their God-given, well-deserved money and giving it to someone less deserving. The people that aren’t already rich yet are hoping that someday they’ll be judged worthy enough to ascend to wealth.

  10. Joanne Christian says:

Jason–I knew I could count on you to reneg (sp).Shoot! I will now have to enact my own trickle down theory via fee schedule. And the races? Jason, Jason, Jason, please come pick any one of the Hot Wheels, or Matchboxes from the prizebox to run on your track.

  11. FSP says:

    “Many republicans think”

Great. More sweeping generalizations. Perhaps the denizens of DL should refrain from sharing their opinion of what other people think.

  12. jason330 says:

JC – English please. I’ve been untangling christmas lights all day.

    Mike –

I’m loving how Dave gets it rolling by saying some lame half-assed GOP bullshit, then spends the rest of the day running away from it and saying that I’m picking on him.

I have to agree that his Falstaffian antics are entertaining.

  13. I included you in the entertainment quotient, Jason! I’d like to think we all contribute to those ends quite nicely!

  14. kavips says:

    Breaking news. Republicans think?

  15. FSP says:

You know what else is funny? Today, it’s been nothing but spewing Republican hatred here, and no mention of Obama’s huge (and fantastic, in my opinion) plan to invest in infrastructure.

  16. anon says:

I know why Dave does not include himself among loser Republicans. He has never listened to his own radio program.

  17. FSP says:

“I’m loving how Dave gets it rolling”

Right. I got it started when I wrote a post with your name in it accusing you of thinking things you don’t think. I’m sorry about that. I never should have done that.

  18. Tom S. says:

“but they can take on 100 billion bucks in debt in the blink of an eye to bail out their gambling buddies on Wall Street.”

    False

    http://www.achicagoblog.com/politics/house-bailout-roll-call/

Can’t you liberals at least look up the results of the vote before you make shit up? You need to get out from underneath your rock from time to time.

  19. anonone says:

Let it be noted, for the record, that approximately 66% of repubs STILL approve of the job Bush is doing as President. Only 6% of Dems do.

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/1723/Presidential-Job-Approval-Depth.aspx#3

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that the repub party isn’t the party of Bush/Cheney. Is is. It hasn’t been “taken over” by right-wing extremists – it is the party of right-wing extremists.

  20. kavips says:

Dave there is no hatred here….. except perhaps for those who took a great country, and purposefully broke it into pieces.

(For the first time I fully understood what the nursery rhyme “Humpty Dumpty” is all about..

…another nation’s equivilent of Republican dominance.)

I think history will decide that George Bush did for the United States of America what Oliver Cromwell did for England.

Sorry, Dave, if the R attached to your name, causes you to get caught in the maelstrom.

  21. Joanne Christian says:

Oh Christmas lights!! OK then. Dave-back up. We’ll give you room too when you’re doing yours. You should have told us sooner Jason. I don’t personally do Christmas lights but provide every accommodation for those who would brave the cold, the ladder, the hammer, and mishaps. Those lights just appear around here, and I am one grateful spouse. As you were Jason, but with mitigating circumstances. Can I have my offer back? Even though I said no deal?

Oh–and apologies to those who have may have tried to follow this post! Love you Mike Matthews!!! And you know that would be Big Love!!

  22. New season starts soon, Joanne! My house or yours?

  23. kavips says:

    LOL Joanne.

Threads are not in real time.. You have to visualize them as a word cloud, and then they make sense…

  24. pandora says:

Big Love? Can’t wait… now that Trueblood is over I need something to look forward to!

  25. Joanne Christian says:

    It’s “Our House” Mike!

  26. Truth Teller says:

The new Sectary of Health according to, today’s Wash post wants input on health care lets all write him and tell him to study all the countries that have universal health care including Cuba select the best from each and give it to us. Then maybe we can all live as long as they do. I already sent him an E-mail

  27. Miscreant says:

“Blogs should be entertaining, IMO, and that’s what the good folks at DELib provide!”

I’ve been saying that from day one. Anyone who takes this shit serious should get themselves committed for 72 hours observation.

  28. cassandra_m says:

it’s been nothing but spewing Republican hatred here

I don’t know about hated, but certainly people have a right to be angry about the tickle down economics and all of the conservative magic money schemes have so spectacularly blown up. Lots of people here are at some personal risk because of it.

  29. Unstable Isotope says:

    Amen, Cassandra.

  30. FSP says:

People have a right to blame whomever or whatever they choose, regardless of how much the target of their blame actually contributed to their misfortune.

  31. Mike Protack says:

Universal Health Care based on wellness, productivity and security is a must. Throw in choice, competitition and personal responsibility and you have a winner.

The party that solves health care will be the winners for a generation.

  32. Suzanne says:

“I’ve been saying that from day one. Anyone who takes this shit serious should get themselves committed for 72 hours observation.”

OMG – you mean to say not everything said err written here is dead serious and dead-on?
damn….you mean I should actually think for myself rather then take what I get here and spread it everywhere else?

This sucks – you just ruined my day.

  33. Unstable Isotope says:

Wow, the earth is standing still. I agree with Mike P. for once. Yes, the party that gives universal healthcare will win for a generation, at least. I guess that’s why Republicans oppose it so much?
