Oh good lord, Donald Trump destroyed the GOP tonight.
I know… and I bet he’s just started. He’ll go after Rs who spoke out against him. He’s going to burn the whole house down. Silver lining: His “brand” is toast.

Remember the pattern: anybody insulted by Trump becomes a victim deserving of sympathy. Trump will make the rest of the GOP look like the mythical “sane Republicans.”
The good news for the GOP is that Republican values and economic theories are not on the table for this campaign. It’s now only about the f-ed up vulgarity of one man. The GOP can survive Trump.

re: sniffling – I think Trump is making an effort to keep his voice low to sound more measured and presidential. He knows he is speaking lower so he holds the mic closer, and when he does that it picks up on his nasal inhalations and makes them seem unnaturally loud. If I’m right the sniffling should be less evident when he picks up that pace, which should be any minute now.

I’m glad to hear her advocate a no-fly zone in Syria. I have never understood why that wasn’t done 4 years ago.
I think she should give her 2 mins to Trump and ask him to answer the question about what he would do there.

Sorry, I’m having trouble believing that the people we’ve seen asking questions truly haven’t decided not to avoid Trump.

Martha is being pummeled by Trump.
I’d say a win for Hillary for two reasons:
1. This debate changes nothing.
2. It’s clear that Trump is not dropping out.
HRC was still trying to talk to swing voters and Trump is still trying to lock down his base.
The free-for-all at the beginning let HRC stand up against a bully, again.
What was that business about throwing Pence under the bus?
This was decisive a win for HRC for me, but I think the MSM will grade on a curve for Trump since he settled down after the first fireworks. It didn’t matter that he debated in Breitbart headlines.
Hillary’s worst answer was the Abe Lincoln thing on the public and private positions on an issue. She looked bad and Trump nailed her on it. She was being too intellectual and too cute by half. The public doesn’t buy those answers.

Are you certain? We all do it. And we sure know that Trump does it, BIG TIME. He just calls it “locker room chatter”, but it’s exactly the same thing.
Trump has a public and a private position on sexual assault.
The serious point is that when you’re setting policy in a way that resembles “making sausage”, sometimes its best to not put everything out on the table.
Chris demonstrates the difference between voters who are interested in facts and voters who are interested in performance.
Trump worked at minimizing his history of sexual abuse, he lied about his support of Iraq, he lied about Bill Clinton, lied about a peace treaty with Syria, lied, lied, lied.

No, I am suspicious of any politician who can rationalize her reasons for holding private positions and public positions. Kind of like all the leaders (cowards) who were publicly against same sex marriage for years, until they felt it safe enough to come out for it. I won’t name names.

You should always be suspicious of politicians anyway, but she’s doing nothing there except acknowledging something that’s true of everyone who holds “public positions” on anything. So you’re penalizing her for telling the truth.

The whole debate crossed over into sci-fi territory when a fly landed on Hillary’s face and you could hear on her mic “Help me. Help me.”

I thought Trump got at least a draw. He did enough to turn the narrative. The “that’s because you’d be in jail” line is the one people will be talking about. And the camera/production crews did him a huge favor by cutting from him making a weak accusation to a hollow looking Bill and to the three accusers. It gave that whole line of attack a legitimacy it wouldn’t have had otherwise.
Let the fact checking begin.
To me, Trump’s demeanor was just so strange. My wife and I watched together, and we couldn’t take our eyes away from Trump’s stalking around the stage and that perpetual grimace adorning his face. Trump looked as unpresidential as you could get.
Oh, and he said that he never groped anybody, didn’t pay federal taxes, and he’ll put Hillary in jail. Cue the spots and the next oppo drop.
But it’s the stalking that I’ll remember. It just reinforced every creepy notion that people have now developed about Trump. I can’t imagine Trump persuading anybody who wasn’t already with him to vote for him based off of that performance.
I think his TV experience has trained him to move to stay on camera. But if people think it’s stalking, and that helps him lose, that’s fine with me.
My first full scale look at Trump, weak stomach and no desire to regurgitate. I was shocked, shocked I say, at what an immature bully he really is. The barrage of lies I expected, but he’s a sniffling sociopath who cannot control himself, the faces and playground taunts really show him for what he is.
