Friday Open Thread [5.11.12]
I think it is going to become so acceptable as conventional wisdom that Romney is a liar, and Romney will continue to tell the most outrageous and pathological lies over the next five months, that President Obama will actually be forced to call him a liar to his face during the debates.
Friday Polling Report [5.11.12]
Now, normally, we focus on polling of races that will occur this year. But today we have some polls of races far into the future. Let’s just say that if Hillary wants it, it is hers.
Romney was a psychotic bully in High School
The Washington Post reports on how Mitt Romney, when he was a young adult at 18 years of age, was a homophobic bully who beat up and assaulted people he thought were different that he was.
Continued Reaction
I have been busy this morning reading through all of the reactions from readers of TPM and Andrew Sullivan that were posted by each blog, as well as the reactions of others columnists and bloggers and opinion makers, etc. Here are a few that stood out to me.
Mitch Crane kicks off his Campaign today in Dover
It starts at 12:30 over at the Old State House on the Green in Dover. Mitch will be joined by a number of legislators who already support his candidacy to unseat the incompetent advocate for the insurance industry, Karen Weldin Stewart. Indeed, I am told that a few legislators plan to announce their support today at the kickoff.
Thursday Polling Report [5.10.12]
So how does a President’s embrace of same sex marriage play in our polling world? The real answer to the question is no one knows because it has never happened before. Will Obama lose states because of his support of same sex marriage? Maybe. North Carolina probably got a little harder to win, since the CW is “well they just banned gay marriage by 20 points, that must mean Obama will lose North Carolina by 20 points now, right?”
Nope.
The Obama Special Report Open Thread
ABC News is breaking into live programing at 3 pm. It is expected that he will announced the end of his evolution and that he supports same sex marriage.
Wednesday Open Thread [5.9.12]
“I have a mindset that says bipartisanship ought to consist of Democrats coming to the Republican point of view.” — Indiana U.S. Senate nominee Richard Mourdock (R), quoted by Politico. Some of us have known that was the Republican view for some time. Perhaps the media and certain Democrats (cough cough Carper Coons Carney) can finally wake up to it.
Patience
President Obama, “who is under mounting pressure to clarify his thinking on same-sex marriage after top aides publicly embraced it in recent days, will sit down for an interview with ABC News on Wednesday during which he is likely to discuss his ‘evolving’ views on the issue,” the New York Times reports. I find it hard to imagine that he will endorse gay marriage in this interview and at this time, but I could be wrong.
Wednesday Polling Report [5.9.12]
Finally, new state polls. We have good news in Iowa and Ohio, requiring a change of color in both states on our map.
