Polling Report and Electoral Vote Update
We have decided to separate the polling and electoral vote map from the Open Thread and give it its own post. Makes sense, since the Open Thread is supposed to be for you, the reader, to offer and discuss something that we are missing, not for us to give you more information. Today, we have a poll out of North Dakota.

Candidates for the New Castle County offices of County Executive and County Council President will be the focus of the May 2nd meeting of the Progressive Democrats for Delaware (PDD). I am not sure what Rove is smoking making us think Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Dakota are only leaning Republican while Colorado is in the bag for Obama. It is most likely a Rovian mind trick, trying to get us to spend money there. DL Tracking Poll Results — Tom Gordon (D)
Disgraced Former New Castle County Executive Tom Gordon is thinking about taking another run at his old office. It makes sense. Paul Clark is disliked and Bill Shahan is still an unknown at this point in the race. Gordon probably figures he has the name rec to take down Clark. He also probably figures some longing for when times were good in the county during his terms as Exec will redeem him in the eyes of the voters. And our poll results will give him some encouragement that such a redemption is very possible.

The UK and the Eurozone are stagnant, even declining back into recession, because they are pursing the Republican policy of severe austerity. That is what will happen to us if we elect Mitt Romney and a Republican Congress. A return to recession.

Dana Milbank: “Aficionados of the Etch a Sketch will recall a certain flaw in the toy: If you use it often, some of the lines drawn no longer disappear when you shake the device, instead leaving an indelible trace of where you have been.”
