Even though the general election campaign is now underway, [...] there are five primaries today in Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. As a result, this is the first primary day where Romney doesn't face any real competition. So when we watch the returns, we'll get a good idea of the true anti-Romney vote tonight. Does he get at least 50% in all of these contests? What about 60%? 70%?"

Last month, 53% of our readers disapproved of Republican Insurance Commissioner candidate james Van Houten, disapproval rating, and 24% were undecided. This month, not much has changed. Van Houten's unfavorable rating has dropped to 47%, and his favorability rating has increased one point, to 25% from 24%. Somehow, people became more undecided about him, which I suppose is a good thing for the Van Houten campaign. Better to be unknown than disliked.

Meanwhile, yesterday we saw the hilarity of the tracking polls of both Gallup and Rasmussen showing Romney winning nationally contrasted with two Fox News polls showing Obama winning both Ohio and Florida, the later by very comfortable margins. Today, the hilarity is more direct. We still have Rasmussen Tracking showing Romney winning, but now Rasmussen's own poll of Ohio shows Obama winning.

The Creation Story: It looks like Gallup Tracking has joined Rasmussen in Republican outlier territory. I wonder if Gallup is assuming a 2010 electorate. I might have to go digging…
