The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.

In one of America’s darker moments in its history was the Japanese Internment during World War II. Like Pearl Harbor this month, it took is marking a 70 year anniversary. Here is one of my favorite people, George Takei, speaking to NPR’s Robin Young on the program “Here and Now.”

It’s a time-honored tradition at Navy homecomings that a lucky sailor is chosen from the crew to be first off the ship for the long-awaited kiss with a loved one. On Wednesday, for the first time ever, the happily reunited couple was gay.
