A new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds Hillary Clinton is better-trusted on dealing with the terrorism threat, with her biggest edge over Donald Trump.

“By 50% to 42%, more Americans say they trust Clinton to handle the threat of terrorism than Trump, who leads the Republican field and responded to the Paris terrorist attacks by calling for heightened surveillance of mosques and redoubling his opposition to allowing Syrian refugees to settle in the U.S.”

David Atkins:

A bunch of Democrats who foolishly listened to Steve Israel seem to have wildly underestimated how pissed off the progressive base is over the Syrian refugees vote. There will be opportunities to make amends, though. This fight isn’t over by a long shot.

Indeed, I am sure John Carney is a little taken aback by the outrage pointed in his direction. David speaks of opportunities to make amends. On the Refugee Bill, to even begin to heal this rift, the first, but not last, step is for all of them to sustain the veto. And of course, Senators Coons and Carper will be well advised to not repeat Carney’s mistake. They must filibuster.

With No Sense of Irony, Christine O’Donnell says the FEC suit against her is a “Witch Hunt”

With No Sense of Irony, Christine O’Donnell says the FEC suit against her is a “Witch Hunt”

Our favorite local Sarah Palin, failed 2010 GOP Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell, says that the FEC lawsuit alleging that she illegally used campaign donations for personal expenses is actually a “witch hunt” and that she can’t get a new attorney in Delaware because they are being intimidated.

She is also having trouble hiring a local attorney, she said, claiming that at least three lawyers she has talked to have received phone calls warning of “political backlash” if they represent her. Her former local attorney, Richard Abbott, withdrew last month, saying he hasn’t been paid for his services.

Really???! Well surely these attorneys will swear out affidavits under oath supporting this shocking allegation!

Yeah not so much.

Donald Trump “was repeatedly asked to explain the difference between requiring Muslims to enter their information into a database and making Jewish people register in Nazi Germany,” MSNBC reports.

He responded four times by saying, “You tell me.”

Alright, Herr Trump, I’ll tell you. There is no difference.

Now that Carney is no longer viable as a Governor, who should replace him?

Now that Carney is no longer viable as a Governor, who should replace him?

Vote in the poll and mention ideas below. Here are mine:

Bethany Hall Long (already running for Lt. Governor, perhaps she can be convinced to remove the Lt.)
Paul Baumbach.
Bryan Townsend (yeah, he is already running for Congress, but perhaps he is more valuable in Dover?)
Sean Lynn.
John Kowalko.

John Carney Just Voted with the Republicans. He cannot be our next Governor.

He just disqualified himself from future political office with his vote today. He must be defeated at all costs in the coming Democratic Primary. Too bad there are no Democrats willing to step up and challenge him at the moment.

Thursday Open Thread [11.19.15]

Donald Trump told Yahoo News that he would increase surveillance of Muslims and consider a series of drastic measures to keep Americans safe.

Said Trump: “We’re going to have to do things that we never did before. And some people are going to be upset about it, but I think that now everybody is feeling that security is going to rule. And certain things will be done that we never thought would happen in this country in terms of information and learning about the enemy. And so we’re going to have to do certain things that were frankly unthinkable a year ago.”

He wouldn’t rule out requiring Muslims to carry a form of special identification: “We’re going to have to — we’re going to have to look at a lot of things very closely. We’re going to have to look at the mosques. We’re going to have to look very, very carefully.”

Donald Trump. An Actual Nazi.
