Song Of The Day: Dec. 15, 2017
My fave song of 2015, although about how a child sought sanctuary from an abusive father, was also my fave b/c it took place in the squared circle of…pro rasslin’. First, the entire countdown! And, now, the Heavyweight Champeen:
Delaware Political Weekly: Dec. 8-14, 2017
1. Miro To Retire, Grease The Skids For His Daughter? That’s the word on the street. The longtime pol who currently represents the 22nd RD is planning to retire and have his daughter run for the seat. I’ve also heard that the D’s have a strong prospective candidate. This is precisely the kind of seat […]
Song Of The Day: Dec. 14, 2017
I had no doubt about my choice for Best Song Of 2014. Every bit as timely now as it was then. Perhaps more. But first, the 2014 countdown: https://delawareliberal.net//2014/12/30/bulos-fave-tunes-of-2014-the-top-ten/ Here’s what American Songwriter wrote about this song: “Alynda Lee Segarra takes more than 100 years of murder ballads to task on this standout from Hurray […]
WDEL Gets The KHN Harassment Report
Great hed on Amy Cherry’s must-read piece: “Do You Need To Call Your Mommy?” I know it’s not politic to say so, but NCC Council President Karen Hartley-Nagle appears to be mentally and emotionally unfit to hold office. Her personal skills don’t seem to have advanced beyond the petulance of adolescence. She’s costing the taxpayers […]
Song Of The Day: Dec. 13, 2017
Two great roots songs top what was quite the eclectic list of Best Songs of 2013. Both of them chill-inducing. First, here are the countdown articles: https://delawareliberal.net//2013/12/24/el-somnambulos-25-favorite-songs-of-2013/ https://delawareliberal.net//2013/12/26/el-somnambulos-favorite-songs-of-2013-the-top-ten/ I’m gonna post both #’s 1 and 2 b/c, depending on the day, I went back and forth on which would wind up on top. I still […]
Alabama Senate Race Open Thread
All signs point to a razor-thin race. Here’s one sign: Exit polls show men voting for Moore by a 57-40 margin and women voting for Jones by a 57-42 margin. Earliest results have Jones up, but with less than 4000 votes in. Not statistically significant.

We continue our visit to Songs Of The Year Past. 2012. First, here is the 2012 Countdown, presented in two parts: https://delawareliberal.net//2012/12/11/bulos-best-songs-of-2012-part-1/ https://delawareliberal.net//2012/12/12/best-songs-of-2012-the-top-10/ I really like this list, and love the #1, a white hot slab of adrenaline that Husker Du would have been proud to release:
Who Are Your Choices For MVP (Most Valuable to the Progressive Cause) And LVP?
I just don’t have the heart to try and cobble together an MVP list this year. The year sucked, locally and nationally. Worst year ever. I believe our democracy is imperiled, and I have abandoned any hope that those who pass for state leaders will lead. So, it’s up to you. Who provided you with […]
Song Of The Day: Dec. 11, 2017
As I prepare this year’s list of my 50 Fave Songs, I figured I’d check back on my #1 choices from years past. Starting, of course, in reverse chronological order. Wonder how they’ll stand the test of time. From 2011: Since my #2 was so distinctly different, and since I seriously considered it for #1, […]
Song Of The Day: Dec. 10, 2017
I love it when an impromptu Tex-Mex week breaks out. Let’s dance the week out in style with Joe ‘He’s The King!’ Carrasco:
Song Of The Day: Dec. 9, 2017
One of the great characters in rock ‘n roll history created one of the most memorable Tex-Mex classics. BTW, the song was not about his cat. If you wanna sing along, here are the lyrics: Uno, dos, one, two, tres, quatro Matty told Hatty about a thing she saw. Had two big horns and a […]
Delaware Political Weekly: Dec. 1-7, 2017
1. Looks Like It’s Sturgeon Vs. Lavelle In SD 4. With Dan Cruse’s withdrawal from the race for family reasons, the stage is now set for an epic showdown between Rethug mouthpiece/obstructionist Greg Lavelle and insurgent Laura Sturgeon. Make no mistake. This is a winnable race. There are now more registered D’s than R’s in […]
Song Of The Day: Dec. 8, 2017
Went looking for Raul Malo‘s version of ‘Is Anybody Goin’ To San Antone?’, per Bamboozer’s comment. Couldn’t find it, but found this one, and it cooks:
