El Somnambulo on Al’s Show Today
Thursday, Sept. 29 at 10 am. We will talk about the latest state legislative rip-offs of the public, and I will share sort-of a first conceptual draft of a ‘Legislative Reform’ agenda, an agenda that I hope many will consider, support, and lobby their legislators on behalf of. We’ll have more on that on DL […]
More Thievery From the Delaware General Assembly–At Your Expense
Lest anyone still doubt that the Delaware General Assembly is THE Poster Child for the Delaware Way, Chad Livengood’s article in today’s News-Journal should disabuse you of that notion.
News-Journal Exposes General Assembly Pension Scam…More To Follow
Every couple of years, retired state employees get something like a 2% pension increase. If they’re lucky. If there’s money for it. If the legislators are in a giving mood. However, for a not-particularly small, but select, group of state legislators, a pension windfall is realized whenever certain veteran legislators retire or, in the case of the ethically-compromised Terry Spence, are defeated.
El Somnambulo On Al’s Show, Thursday, Sept. 22
Yes, I’m back after a brief summer sabbatical, and ready to talk about all things political and governmental. No doubt we’ll talk some Karen Weldin Stewart, some IC politics, some Rockwood (I wanna hear from all you hatahs out there), some more reasons why Ruth Ann Minner and her cronies should face criminal charges, Crazy […]
Breaking News: Pete duPont Still Alive, But Does He Have a Pulse?
In a symbolic embrace of ‘freedom’, the media was barred from the du Pont’s event last night, which included a mere cameo from New Jersey’s governor, who could barely squeeze this prestigious honor into his busy schedule.

County Tries to Sell State White Elephant
Rockwood. Yet another tony estate, built in the mid-1800’s, championed by those people more concerned about family crests than family stability, purchased by New Castle County with lotsa bucks from the state, turned into a ‘mansion and a park’ during the go-go Gordon and Freebury years, and now, and now…the County can’t afford the upkeep and wants to pawn it off on the state.
Karen Weldin Stewart’s Appeal to Nowhere…
…on behalf of, well, not the people of the State of Delaware, has been dismissed by federal regulators. The News-Journal story has a distinct Karen in Wonderland flavor to it.
To (half-)wit: Our elected insurance commissioner, apparently on her own, applied for a three-year waiver to:
“exempt Aetna and UnitedHealthcare from spending 80 percent of premiums on medical care rather than administrative expenses or profits.”

R. I. P. Jerry Leiber: Part 1
One-half of one of the best and most influential songwriting teams of the rock ‘n roll era has passed away. The late Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller combined to create some of the most remarkable music of our lives. And the lyrics are tres tres cool and sometimes downright weird.
If I Was In a Garage Band…
Back from dropping our daughter’s stuff off at college. 10 hours each way. We listened to Little Steven’s Underground Garage on satellite radio virtually the entire time. I now realize that perhaps my sole remaining dream in life is to sing in a garage band, at least for one night. From time to time when […]
