According to sources, Walgreen’s and the State of Delaware have agreed to reopen negotiations on reimbursement of brand-name medications through the State Medicaid program. Walgreen’s has agreed to extend its participation in the program until at least August 6, pending resolution of negotiations. The previous ‘drop-dead’ date had been July 6. Walgreen’s pharmacists are now […]
Rep. Booth to Run for Adams’ Senate Seat
The News-Journal’s Dan Shortridge reports that former Georgetown Mayor and current State Representative Joe Booth (R) will run for the vacant Senate seat held by Thurman Adams before his death. Once again acknowledging his inability to understand Sussex County at all, it appears to ‘bulo that the R’s have chosen their strongest possible candidate. Booth’s […]
Live-Blogging the House-Vol. 2
Anyone wishing to catch up with El Somnambulo’s timeless prose from earlier today can link here. When the House recessed for an arm-twisting session around 5:30, ‘bulo doubted that it would eventually turn into the dinner break. Apparently, ‘Bulo was wrong, not for the first time today, nor certainly for the last time tonight. Clearly, […]

Making all the final preparations. Lessee… Bottle of Chenin Blanc/Viognier nicely chilled? Check. Cheese platter to allay that pre-dinner break hunger? Check. Law & Order reruns on the tube for those anticipated down-times? Check. Dogs fed? Oops, better feed the dogs…Check. OK, here’s how the final day usually works. Once the House goes in, they […]
State of Delaware/Walgreen’s: Can This Marriage Be Saved?
It can and it should. In fact, there is no earthly reason why this war of words should have escalated this far. First, allow the Beast Who Slumbers to stipulate that he does have a dog in this fight as he is close to several people who work for Walgreen’s. Not at the corporate level, […]

General Assembly Pre-Game Show-Monday, June 29
2 days to go. Based on press reports, the white smoke has yet to be seen from the Legislative Hall chimney. The state’s finances, of course, being the foremost subject facing the Delaware General Assembly. Lots of ‘whipping’ is gonna have to go on, especially in the House Republican Caucus, for a balanced budget to […]
Cutting of Legislators’ Transportation Funds Misguided
A proposal to seriously reduce legislative funds designed to repair roads is ill-considered and will not save money in the long run. It will delay repairs of suburban streets, many of which, by DELDOT’s own grading of the roads, need to be done ASAP. The delays will only lead to increased repair costs when and […]

LEAD STORY-Asia Times: Anatomy of a Pentagon Coverup As was predicted here several weeks ago, US media lost whatever little interest they had had about recent U. S. air strikes killing innocent civilians in Afghanistan. So, when the Pentagon released its ‘study’ a week ago Friday, it disappeared into a media black hole. Which is […]
Bulo’s Saturday Music for the Masses-Michael Jackson Memorial Edition
Look at these vids and you come to 2 conclusions: (1) He was every bit as talented as everyone has said (even the song about the rat) and (2) The poor kid never had a chance to be a kid:

The Delaware State Senate Is Changed Forever
With the passing of Thurman Adams, the Delaware State Senate will never be the same. And the State of Delaware will be much the better for it. While one wishes Adams’ family best wishes and mourns their loss, it must be said that, in the last few years, Adams almost singlehandedly kept the Senate’s tradition […]
