Proof – Salon’s Bill Curry reads DL

This is me on Jan 28th at 1:04pm:
I’m not voting for Democrats who can’t make a case for why they should win. Anyone who does is guilty of propping up the dead husk of the Democratic Party and pretending it is alive.
This is Salon on Sunday, Feb 1, 2015 07:00 AM EST:
We need our own Tea Party: The fight is much more than Hillary v. Warren. The Democratic Party's a corrupt, empty husk. But it offers a way forward if, like Maddow, we have the right debate Bill Curry

The Matt Denn Dividend

By leaving the LT Gov's office empty, the state is saving $610,000. Pretty sweet.
Lt. Governor's Office -$610,3000
Knowing this cost $610,000 it is going to be pretty hard going forward for anyone to make the case that we need a Lt. Governor. Other than that, I don't see anything surprising in this Markell budget power-point. Unless I'm missing it, no tax increases. Only cuts to balance the budget. Elderly property tax subsidy cut -$12 million. (Suck it old fart New Jersey losers!), lower debt service -$11.7 million (thanks low interest rates), and presumably nobody is going to get sued this year, -$2 in legal fees.
Out spent and out witted Democrats better come up with a kick-ass message

Out spent and out witted Democrats better come up with a kick-ass message

The Democratic Party, especially the top leadership responsible for messaging, sucks ass. The Party is a directionless clusterf*ck, attempting to woo voters by being a slightly less vile version of the GOP. I think we can all agree on that much. Now they are going up against the Koch Bros and their $1 billion in attack ads. The bottom line is the beltway consultants who have wrecked the party are shitting themselves, and for good reason.
Delaware’s “Charles Darwin Day” the first in the US

Delaware’s “Charles Darwin Day” the first in the US

Kudos to Jack Markell. This is exactly the kind of crumb Markell is a master of tossing out to starving liberals. Nice work Gov! Now get back to the real work of governing and privatize public education, reduce the minimum wage, or figure out how to exempt millionaires from paying taxes.
Delaware Gov. Jack Markell (D) has declared Feb. 12 as "Charles Darwin Day" in the state. Praising Darwin's theory of evolution as "the foundation of modern biology, an essential tool in understanding the development of life on earth," Markell's proclamation says Feb. 12 -- Darwin's birthday -- "is a time to reflect and celebrate the importance of his scientific achievements."
Picking the 2015 Super Bowl winner using my never fail “which mascot would win in a fight method”

Picking the 2015 Super Bowl winner using my never fail “which mascot would win in a fight method”

After six years, the science of "which mascot would win in a fight" continues to confound the experts with a 100% success rate. That's right,  6 for 6 Bitches!  Suck it Terry Bradshaw! Anyhoo...let's take a look at Super Bowl XLIX (official pronunciation - "Super Bowl Ex-licks"). This could be a tough one.  A minute man style colonial militia "Patriot" vs. Bird.  Frankly I was rooting for Packers vs Colts because that would have been dead easy.  But as Dick Cheney once said, "You may pray for defenseless victims and the easy snuff out of a bewildered child or an enfeebled old lady, but in the end you get what you get." Here is what I said about the Seahawks last year....
John Carney on why he voted to weaken Dodd-Frank (annotated)

John Carney on why he voted to weaken Dodd-Frank (annotated)

I found this early draft of Carney's HR 37 statement on line. "Many of you have asked me why I voted for H.R. 37, featured in the News Journal this morning. Dodd-Frank was passed before I came to Congress, but I support its goal of reining in Wall Street and protecting taxpayers.[Please note that "support" should be enclosed in quotation marks]
