If it were true that law abiding gun nuts wanted to keep guns away from "criminals" then this sort of thing would be a slam dunk.
According to a Wednesday report in the Washington Post, the era of “smart guns” — weapons that would only fire when their registered user is using them — may be closer than many think. The Armatix iP1 is now being sold in California and is considered to be the first true smart gun available on the market.
Of course the gun nut community will hate this. Why? Because keeping guns out of the hands of criminals ...

The item below is a good news/bad news type deal for Democrats. The good news is that the Tea Party is completely defunct as a movement with the ability to wield any power. Except for some reality impaired dead-enders and their wealthy enablers, nobody is going to utter the words "Tea Party" as anything other than a punchline from now on. The bad news for Democrats is that the Tea Party is defunct. The "grassroots" movement that allowed Christine O'Donnell to challenge Michael Castle will not be around to run its reign of terror party purges in future elections.

Charlie Copeland really couldn't stand the idea of raising a glass of champagne and toasting the candidacy of Rose Izzo. I don't blame him. Why give third tier R's your honestly inherited money so they can blow it on rent? The nerve of these people.... I don't want this to sound like a "things were great when I was a kid, and now they suck" post, but the Olympics were great when I was a kid and now they suck. Seriously. The Olympics used to be awesome. It was Jim McKay's 'Wide World of Sports" on the steroids. Literally (Yes, I'm looking at you East Germany.) They showed all the sports including biathlon. Not because it looked like an American might medal in biathlon, but because when else were yo going to be able to see biathlon? Now its all skating and snowboarding. They'll cut away to bobsled in order to set up a Lola Jones puff piece, but that's about it. Back in the day, it was amateurs who did it for the love of the sport, (Do you believe in miracles?!?). Now it is millionaire snowboarders making pretend snowboarding is a sport while they drink Mountain Dew on the medal stand to fulfill the terms of their endorsement contracts. (Do you believe in cross-promotions?!?)

The hearing on data security and financial stability brought four senior financial regulators and one senior Treasury official in front of the committee and provided a forum for yet another strong critique by the populist Massachusetts senator of what she sees as fundamentally weak regulation of the country’s largest banks. In particular, she once again called for more criminal cases that could result in jail time — as opposed to the enforcement actions and civil cases that can be brought by the regulators Warren was criticizing.

They were the dying gasp of Nixon's cynical southern strategy. A mere four years after their great mid-term election triumph, the leaders of that movement are scattered and demoralized. Who talks about Ted Cruz anymore? There will be another debt ceiling increase in five days that will pass without a peep from the people who said that debt ceiling fights, and debt hysteria were going to be the killer apps of the 20-teens. So what next? Some counter movement must be stirring somewhere. Even though I can't see it or hear it, I know it is out there. There must be some folks who come from the Eisenhower wing of the party. Right? If there isn't, there should be. I mean, I can sketch out a Progressive Republican manifesto right off the top of my head. Come inside for more...
