Delaware, meet your next Governor – Ken Simpler
The mainframe at the home office in Omaha has crunched the numbers and all signs point to Simpler. Follow me below the fold for the breakdown.

Bill Maher, at the top of his New Rules segment on his HBO show Friday night, accurately described the current political situation. Maher said: “Now that they’ve wrestled his approval rating down to the basement, and grabbed control of both houses of Congress, Republicans must explain why this guy (Obama) keeps kicking your ass. It’s like one of those action movies where you tie the hero up, chain him to a chair, then he headbutts you unconscious, gets up, and leaves a note signed Django.” Come inside for the video…
I love that President Obama is now the sole Democratic agenda setter in Washington. The bipartisanship-seeking cowards that call themselves Democrats, namely Tom Carper, can learn from Obama’s example. Let’s have more of it. If the Republicans even attempt to touch Obamacare, Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid, the President vetos and every Democrat …. every Democrat…. shuts the fuck up and supports the President. I am looking directly at you, Tom.
As a side note, does Tom Carper retire in 2018? I suspect not, but there is a backlog of Democrats piling up waiting for him to move on (Biden, Markell, Carney).
The Weekly Addresses
President Obama speaks about his Immigration Accountability Action. Governor Markell has not posted his weekly message yet. We will post it once we receive it. The West Wing Week follows the President through the week from his trip to Asia and Australia up until his Immigration speech on Thursday. It also features an entire summit audience singing Happy Birthday to our Vice President Uncle Joe Biden. And a new feature video from the White House, a behind the scenes talk with the President before his address on Thursday. Come inside for the videos.

Tom Carper just heaped praise on this Republican – You will totally believe what happened next
Yesterday Tom Carper heaped praise on his GOP buddy Tom Coburm of Oklahoma. After praising Coburn, he handed over the gavel of an Ebola hearing to the nutbag:
“I don’t want to chair this hearing today. I want Tom Coburn to chair it,” Mr. Carper said from the dais on Wednesday. “So I’m going to pass tho gavel over to him and put him in charge, and I’m going to try to be a good wingman. All right, Thomas, it’s all yours.”
What did the grand gesture of bipartisanship get Carper? Well, LATER THE SAME DAY Coburn predicted “anarchy” and “violence” will be the result of any executive order on immigration.

What’s interesting is this:
I’d rather have a system of ethics than an ideology.
So I’m starting over here, in a sense. As a historian I know that all phenomena involve both continuity and change. I’m still the same person, with the same background, the same interests, the same flaws, and the same leanings, that I was about seven years ago when I first started publishing The Delaware Libertarian. I’m just unwilling to confine my ideas, my observations, or my potential solutions to that framework any more.

A house on Mt. Vernon Street in Smyrna. More great fall color. From xzmattzx from Flickr.
Wednesday Daily Delawhere [11.19.14]
Houses on Green Street in Middletown. I don’t usually post pictures of random un-famous houses, but I loved the color of the tree. Does anyone else think that the fall colors this year have been especially … .well… colorful and longlasting. Prior years recently the peak color was short and sweet with more brown and […]
Who ‘Killed’ Sean Matthews?
No, this is not one of those comic book ‘dream’ issues. Somebody ‘killed’ Sean Matthews. And apparently 200 or more of his supporters.
The ‘deceased’ did not know of their demise until someone from the Democratic Party caught wind of the massive tragedy. And subsequently raised them from the dead.
Here’s the unbelievable story: Both Sean Matthews and Dennis E. Williams had access to the Democratic Party Voter File…until the 10th R. D. officially endorsed Dennis Williams. At that point, only the endorsed candidate had access to the file. Until after the primary, that is. You will recall that Matthews defeated the incumbent D Williams. Which meant that, as of September 10, Matthews was able to access the file.
Only, something had happened in the interim. Someone had gone into the Voter File and marked over 200 voters as ‘deceased’, including Sean Matthews. Only the Williams people had access to the file, and someone or some someones had to actively go in and change the status of these voters to deceased. It wasn’t the Party. They were the ones who spotted the mischief-making and alerted Matthews right away. BTW, virtually none of the alleged deceased were in fact deceased, if any.
“Concerned Neighbors Of Cooke Elementary School” VS The Red Clay School Board
I plan on attending the RCCD school board meeting tomorrow night (7pm at Brandywine Springs Elementary School). This is going to be interesting, mainly because the Concerned Neighbors of Cooke Elementary School’s stated concerns regarding the addition of Lancaster Court Apartments to Cooke’s feeder don’t hold water – they also keep changing. If you haven’t […]
