Reconnecting DE Voters to the Democratic Brand
In yesterday’s Post Mortem thread, heragain made an interesting point that lead to some discussion of Party endorsements and Party future:
The Delaware Democratic party is now the victim of its own success. Anyone who wants to win runs as a D, so we have a slate full of people who have NO relationship with the party or its platform going into the general carrying our standard. [more]
You Ain’t the Cat’s Pajamas
If I learned anything over this primary election, when it comes to politics, know one knows nothing. The more one pretends to know, it becomes apparent that they know very little. When politicians, political Insiders or bloggers start thinking their shit don’t smell, it’s best they remember the line from Shakespeare’s As You Like It:
The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.
I think everyone should read Kavips today.
His piece on the future of New Castle County, with a little recent political history thrown in, is a tour de force and it has performed a miracle: it actually made me feel a little bit better about Tom Gordon. Not enough to vote for him, mind you, but enough to be not apocalytic about what is coming…
‘Bulo On Al’s Show Today at 10
All primary results, all the time, with trenchant and perhaps morbid analysis. Including a post-mortem into why I think Mitch Crane lost (it’s probably not what you think), dissection of all the key races, including the ouster of two incumbent state senators, and some rasslin’ talk, featuring an update on Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler.

An Axis of Deceit: The Gordon/KWS/Williams/Bullock Cabal

So the Tom Gordon/Karen Weldin Stewart/Dennis P. Williams/Christopher Bullock cabal has yet again decieved the Democratic Primary voter by handing out this flyer today, saying the Party has endorsed them all. I guess they are Post-Truth Democrats, aren’t they? Meanwhile the truth is the Democratic Party has endorsed Paul Clark (not that I am happy about that, mind you), Mitch Crane, and Renee Taschner, and offered no endorsement in the Wilmington Mayor’s race.
So perhaps you want to ask one of the four (who will hopefully all lose tonight) why they feel so comfortable with lying.
My Shocking Prediction for Tonight:
Bill Shahan is going to win the County Executive race. Post yours below:
The Polling Report [9.11.12]
Yesterday we concentrated on national tracking polls. Today we have some new national nontracking polls to obsess over, all showing substantial bounces for President Obama. And we also have some new state polls too. But first, our new map…

Primary Day in Delaware
Well, the polls are now open. Go out and vote, then report back with any observations.
This is now an open thread for polling place reports for the day and predictions.
Polls close at 8PM. If you don’t know where to vote, look it up here.
And once the polls close, come on out to Timothy’s on the Wilmington waterfront for some liberal libations and to watch the returns come in.
Tuesday Daily Delawhere [9.11.12]
September 11, 2001 was 11 years ago today. I think this is the first anniversary of that horrible day when it fell on the actual day of the week that the attack happened on, a Tuesday. I don’t know why that makes a difference, but to me it does.
The heroes that day were our first responders: our police, our firefighters and our EMTs. Across the country, but especially in the Northeast where the attacks occurred, you will see memorials to their service and in their honor. Such a memorial is this mural on the side of what Wilmington Fire Department at what location?

Lots of Calls Tonight
I have had one from Tom Gordon from Oklahoma (405-308-4474). I had another anti-Karen Weldin Stewart call, but I could not hear who it was from. It was couched as a Voter Alert about somebody withdrawing support from KWS due to her actions in office. The call came from 302-415-3500. And I just got a call from Dave Brady, reminding me to vote tomorrow for him, even though I am no longer in his district. Harris McDowell had a similar problem. I wonder if I have going to have problems voting tomorrow. I have my updated voting card, so the DOE knows I have moved. I guess the campaigns have old lists. Let us know what calls you are getting.
