General Assembly Post-Game Wrap-Up/Pre-Game Show: Thurs., June 28, 2012
Four Senate grandstanders voted against the Budget Bill. Won’t stop ’em from bragging to their constituents about what they’re bringing home to the district. Hypocrites. The four nos: Bonini, Lawson, Katz, and Booth. Meaning that Booth voted against funding for his beloved Sussex Vo-Tech although, to be fair, there sure is some wasteful spending there. In this case, every penny being paid to double-dipper Joe Booth.
Baumbach to kick off campaign this Thursday
As you may know, PDD President Paul Baumbach has thrown his hat into the race to succeed Representative Terry Schooley in the 23rd RD. He will formally announce his candidacy for State Representative of the 23rd District at 11AM tomorrow, June 28th at the Newark Senior Center. The Newark Senior Center is located at 200 White Chapel Drive, and the announcement is open to the media and the public.

They will also leave Dover with yet another revenue source: more dollars via degenerate gamblers thanks to the so-called online gaming bill. This is a particularly odious example of the Delaware Way. Provisions have been put into the bill to ensure that the racinos and the mom-and-pop stores that sell the lottery tickets don’t get screwed, but no such provision for the compulsive gamblers who will help fill the state’s coffers. No fiscal note is even required for this bill, which makes little sense to me. Neither a projection of costs to implement the system, nor a revenues projection? Really?
This is going to be fun….
Vice President Joe Biden at his campaign best. And if this campaign is all about Romney for the rich and Obama for the middle class, then guess what, we win.
NCCo Dem Executive Committee Endorses Clark-Taschner
Last night, the New Castle County Democratic Executive Committee endorsed Paul Clark for Executive and Renee Taschner for County Council President. The endorsement of Paul Clark is not a surprise. It would have been a surprise is they endorsed any one else. But I think the endorsement of Taschner is. Perhaps not over Bill Dunn, who is probably seen as an agitator by the Committee, though a damn smart and knowledgeable one. But over Chris Bullock? That is interesting.
