Filed in National by on September 14, 2020 8 Comments

Crossroads Presbyterian Church notified the Department elections late last week that the church would not be open for Spet 15th primary election – AND THE DEPARTMENT IS JUST GETTING THE NOTICE OUT NOW.

The polling pace finder STILL shows Crossroads as my polling place.

WTF?

Song of the Day 9/14: The A’s, “A Woman’s Got the Power”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment, National by on September 14, 2020 0 Comments

Trump keeps trying to insult Kamala Harris, and he looks weaker every time he does. Her presence on the Democratic Party ticket clearly infuriates him — what doesn’t, right? — so I think she should be front and center for the rest of the campaign. I also think she should adopt this as her campaign […]

Jason330’s Predictions

Jason330’s Predictions

I predict that no matter what happens tomorrow, candidates like Jess Scarane, Sarah McBride, Kyle Evans Gay, Marie Pinkney, Kyra Hoffner, Larry Lambert, Rae Moore, Sean Matthews, Madinah Wilson-Anton, Eric Morrison, Matt Meyer, Ciro Poppiti, and Kevin Caneco are the future of the Delaware Democratic Party and the gasping-for-breath, “Dark Money Dems” are done. If not in this election, in 24 months. (All seats, even Senate seats, are back in play in the next election.)

Read this about Rhode Island if you haven’t yet and tell me it doesn’t sound like Delaware.

The people I mention above (and other great insurgent candidates) just need to stay in the fight between elections.  Keep your campaigns in place, and the intellectually and physically exhausted Ennis/Jaques/Carney/BHL/Carney/Coons Democratic Party will be ousted. If not now… soon.

Notorious UD Climate Change Denier Hired for Top NOAA Post

NPR is reporting that David LeGates, the University of Delaware geology geography professor who has made a career of denying that human activity has affected global climate, has been appointed to a top position at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration by the Trump administration. Excerpts from the From the NPR story (emphasis mine): Legates has […]

Getting Hyper-Local to Help Elect More and Better Dems

Studies show that nothing beats face to face interaction for influencing voters. While that is out these day, friends and neighbors have an inside track when it comes to getting a message out – particularly when it comes to getting the message out about insurgent primary campaigns.

That’s why I got the “Vote Builder” list for Dems in my neighborhood who voted in primaries and put together this little door hanger including a little note from me. They are going out to 88 neighbors today and tomorrow.

Song of the Day 9/10: Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, “Do You Want to Know a Secret”

Bob Woodward is coming under fire for recording Trump back in March, when he was publicly downplaying COVID-19, saying that the new coronavirus was “deadly” and worse than the flu — and then sitting on the recordings until now, the better to flog his latest tome. If you want to know the rest of the […]

Song of the Day 9/9: Randy Newman, “Mr. President (Have Pity on the Working Man)”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment, National by on September 9, 2020 0 Comments

Randy Newman’s “Good Old Boys,” his controversial 1974 concept album sung from the viewpoint of a Southern everyman named Johnny Cutler, was put together over many months and included a couple of songs that preceded the project. This one, though, was a late addition to the LP, which was released when the first Arab oil […]

Song of the Day 9/8: Gary U.S. Bonds, “Out of Work”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment, National by on September 8, 2020 1 Comment

For 11.5 million Americans, Labor Day wasn’t a day off — they have no job to go back to. Bruce Springsteen wrote this song for Bonds during the singer’s early-80s comeback, which corresponded with the Reagan Recession. Bonds hadn’t had a hit since 1962 until he hooked up with Springsteen in 1981, when his album […]

Happy Labor Day – NOW, GET TO WORK!

Have a great weekend and when we all get back from wherever we are going it will be in the home stretch of the primary election.   SEPT 15th!

Work your ass off for your primary candidate(s).  Remember rule three and four of the four Iron RULES OF DEMOCRATIC POLITICS:

  • 3) The Leadership of the Democratic Party is not the Democratic Party
  • 4) The Democratic Party is made up of the people who are working hard to fix the shitmess created by the Leadership of the Democratic Party which all too often works hand in glove with the GOP.

DAR Not in Bed With Shady NJ SuperPAC According to DAR Prez Zebley

DAR Not in Bed With Shady NJ SuperPAC According to DAR Prez Zebley

I asked, “what’s the connection between ‘Strengthening Our Communities’ and ‘Building Stronger Communities’?” After four days I got a response.

DAR President-Beau Zebley says:
September 5, 2020 at 11:04 pm (Edit)
There is ZERO affiliation between Strengthening Communities and the other PAC from NJ. First off we are a non-partisan PAC and have supported both sides of the aisle. Most importantly NCC races are local and the Delaware Association of Realtors does not get involved in local races. To call our Trade Association shady is wrong and somewhat defamatory. Please feel free to give me a call to discuss what we actually stand for.

That’s pissy, and he couldn’t get through it without throwing in a vague threat of legal action – but ok. Both PACS support Bruce Ennis for some reason, but I’m willing to believe that they aren’t coordinated. There is a different tone in the mailings I’ve received.
