One of the interesting things about the Occupy Movement is to see how it grows in different directions. From one of the working groups in Zuccotti Park came Occupy the SEC. The idea of Occupy the SEC is to work at the policy and regulation level, not just in streets and parks.

As we posted yesterday, the House was going to vote on a Student Loan extension. The legislation passed H.R.4628: Interest Rate Reduction Act which reduces funding for the Prevention and Public Health Fund and now H.R.4628 will surely face a veto if it makes it to the White House.

House Speaker Boehner rushed through the CISPA bill late Thursday and it passed.. And what could only be considered a major disappointment is that not only did John Carney vote with the Republicans in its passage, Carney voted to curtail our rights.
If there is one thing I’ve learned over the last few years, if John Boehner is against it, I’m for it.
