Musk Demands Pledge Of Love From Twitter Workers.  By end of day today: SAN FRANCISCO — Elon Musk issued an ultimatum to Twitter employees Wednesday morning: Commit to a new “hardcore” Twitter or leave the company with severance pay. Twitter is shifting to an engineer-driven operation — one that “will need to be extremely hardcore” […]

The Philly Pops, founded in 1979, announced that it’s throwing in the towel after this season’s Christmas concerts. Cultural institutions have been in decline for years, but the Covid pandemic seems to have delivered the coup de grace. Frank Giordano, the group’s president, told the Inquirer he made up his mind to shutter the organization […]

The GOP’s Hostage Crisis

Republican primary voters have a choice to make. They either make trump the nominee and lose to Biden again, or they make someone else the nominee and lose to Biden again but by a huge margin. Somewhere between a third and half of Republican voters are hardcore Trump loyalists. In a hypothetical scenario in which […]

“Florida Man Makes Announcement”

The headline is great, but the NY Post’s terse coverage of Trump’s announcement is tremendous.  This is how he should have been regarded from the beginning.

Song of the Day 11/16: Major Lance, “Since I Lost My Baby’s Love”

El Somnambulo isn’t the only one who loves the soul music of the ’60s. There’s an entire scene built around it in England known as Northern Soul. The name has nothing to do with where the music comes from but rather where its fans reside: the northern industrial part of England, especially Manchester, where people […]

Lizard v Turtle

Speaking of McConnell someone zapped him with a truth ray or something.
“We underperformed among independents and moderates because their impression of many of the people in our party, and leadership roles, is that they’re dogged in chaos, negativity, excessive attacks, And it frightened independent and moderate Republican voters.”
“…their impression”. LMAO.  The GOP has spent the last 10 years yelling “We are the Party of Chaos and Negativity. IF YOU ARE NOT 100% FOR NEGATIVITY AND CHAOS, GET THE FUCK OUT!!!”

Since the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Artists rankings did well, here is a site that has ranks apples from Best to Worst.   FWIW,  Golden Delicious Apples  should be even lower than #33.

Trump Announced

Trump Announced

There was a stink of desperation around Trump’s announcement. In place of his old swagger he seemed to be working on doing a serviceable imitation of his old self.  It was a very tired, sad performance that Fox News didn’t even bother to carry live.

Trying to stay out of the courtroom and a step ahead of DeSantis, Trump announced that he is running to be the Republican Party’s nominee for the office of President of the United States.   Actually, no.  He appears to be bypassing that contest.

Reforest Delaware

Planting 1 million trees is great. Planting 5 million trees would be awesome. It is a little early for New Years resolutions but I think I’m going to set a goal planting 10 trees in 2023. After more than a year, the “Tree for Every Delawarean Initiative” is still moving toward its goal of planting […]

Who could have predicted Trump would skim $9.00 from every $10.00 contribution to Walker?

LMAO Walker’s campaign tells Republicans to stop ‘deceptive fundraising’ in Georgia runoff At least four committees, one of them associated with former President Donald Trump, have kept 90% of contributions solicited for Senate GOP candidate Herschel Walker. Breaking – Trump Announces Independent Bid for Prez & Formation of New MAGA Party

This headline is me “manifesting” this outcome. I thought of it this morning based on Trump’s hatred of both Republicans and Democrats. It would be the dream scenario. If it comes to pass today – You’re welcome.
