Big Pharma Breaks Lobbying Spending Records To Fight Drug Pricing Initiatives.  They’ve already got Carper and Coons in their pockets–although maybe they can rustle up some spare change to further fatten their campaign coffers.  Remember, kids, not ‘centrists’, corporatocrats. Groundhog Day Headline Du Jour: ‘House Democrats Near Vote On Newly-Retooled $1.75 Trillion Spending Plan’.  Musical […]

Election Analysis

The nothing that Biden has accomplished is too far to the left and that scared the white Virginia people.  So now he needs to be mean to AOC in public and accomplish even more nothing, so Democrats can run on nothing in the mid-terms and win by not being scary leftists.

Put me on TV!  I can do this.

Is There a Christo-Fascist/White Power Cell Operating Within the Delaware State Police?

Filed in National by on November 5, 2021 8 Comments

Having lost to Chris Coons by 59.4% to 37.9%, Delaware’s most prominent Republican and the defacto leader of the DEGOP,  Lauren Witzke, now claims to have asked the Delaware State Police to work with her to “retrieve the people’s stolen property” by overturning the election and installing her as Delaware’s “rightful” Senator. While it is ludicrous […]

Where the FUCK is Kathleen Jennings on this?   Witzke needs to be charged and locked up…today! So far, can find nothing re: State Police response to the Crazy Lady….however, I did find this gem – By someone named “Herkie”, in a comment section on something called ‘nationalzero.com‘: “First, I have always said that republicans […]

Song of the Day 11/4: Journey, “Don’t Stop Believin”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment by on November 4, 2021 5 Comments

David Chase, creator of “The Sopranos,” has at last cleared up any confusion about the series’ controversial final scene, which aired more than 14 years ago. Though he once sort of admitted that the screen went dark because Tony had been whacked, this was the first time he affirmed that this song playing on the […]

Opinion: D’s Have To Confront Rethugs’ Relentlessly Racist Dog-Whistles.  It’s been the R strategy since Nixon, and it works when D’s ignore it: Crucially, the Republican nominee, Glenn Youngkin, was able to use racially coded attacks to motivate sky-high white turnout without paying a penalty among minority voters. This appears to solve the problem bedeviling […]

The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity

Filed in National by on November 3, 2021 3 Comments

This essay, by Italian economist Carlo Cipolla, has been around since 1976, but it remains fundamental to the understanding of human society and its defining characteristic, stupidity. Everyone should read it, because everyone is stupid about something some of the time, even though most of our problems are caused by the incalculably large number of […]

Song of the Day 11/3: Five Man Electrical Band, “Signs”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment, National by on November 3, 2021 0 Comments

Before I left America, I noticed that most stores, and virtually every restaurant, had a “help wanted” sign in the window. The situation is so dire, some internet wag noted, that long-haired freaky people can now apply. I spend about an hour a day walking around Paris, and so far I’ve seen one (1) “help […]

Republicans Do GOTV 24/7/365 – Democrats Do GOTV on Election Day

Filed in National by on November 3, 2021 10 Comments

For the GOP, everything is “Get out the Vote” .  Every lying facebook post, all the dumb anti-mask rallies,  and every policy decision.  It is all about getting the base fired up.  Republicans never say “but we might lose some moderate Republicans” because they know the moderates will come along. What choice do they have?

Democrats dither, delay and debate.  Democrats think the base will come along, because what choice do they have?  Democrats can’t acknowledge the base because they would push them off their message of obsequious unending compromise.   Also we nominate wishy-washy centrist who couldn’t put together an inspiring message if all the pieces were numbered and came with IKEA directions.  It makes us bad at the pace and volume of modern politics.

The Trumper won in Virginia and is close in New Jersey.  Good news for Trump.

The legislative maps are officially locked in.  Meaning it’s Open Season for political junkies.  Let’s go! 1. The Announced Legislative Retirees: (The Disgraced/Disgraceful) Rep. Gerald Brady. Song of the Day 11/2: The Reds, Pinks and Purples, “Last Summer in a Rented Room”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment by on November 2, 2021 0 Comments

Guest post by Nathan Arizona Glenn Donaldson works hard to craft the blend of guitar jangle and atmospheric dream pop that makes his band, the Reds, Pinks and Purples, sound so good. But the San Francisco musician works hard other places, too. Like Alcatraz prison, where he’s employed by the national parks conservancy. Like most […]
