During the September 11 attacks of 2001, 2,977 people were killed, 19 hijackers committed murder–suicide, and more than 6,000 others were injured. The immediate deaths included 265 on the four planes (including the terrorists), 2,606 in the World Trade Center and in the surrounding area, and 125 at the Pentagon.
(CNN)There were 3,157 Covid-19 deaths reported Wednesday — an all-time high for the pandemic — and health care systems are struggling to support the weight of worsening impacts.
On this day in history – John Carney Sucked
This time of year wrap ups and year in review type posts feature prominently on the blog. On this day in 2013 we looked back on John Carney’s first year in Congress – a year spent trying to build his brand as a guy who would do anything to partner with Teabag zealots in order […]
Song of the Day 12/2: Climax Blues Band, “Couldn’t Get It Right”
It’s actually about the band on tour not being able to find the Holiday Inn — that’s the sign they were looking for in the middle of the night — but the title makes it a good theme song for the Trump coup plotters. Like the Top of the Pops host, I thought this lot […]

Barr Appoints ‘Special Counsel’ To Investigate Russia Probe. Designed by Barr to continue during Biden’s term. Utterly pathetic. Apparently designed to mollify Trump. Pardons ‘R Us: Rudy wants one, Trump’s kids might get them. Someone offered to pay Trump for one. Justice Department is covering it up. This Georgia Shit Has Gotten Real. ‘Someone is […]
Chadderdon – Senate Majority Caucus Chief of Staff
I’m sure El Som will have more on the implications – but Chadderdon is widely regarded as a Democrat who gets it. This is good news for people who want Democrats to act like Democrats.
DOVER – The Delaware Senate Majority Caucus on Tuesday announced the hiring of Jesse Chadderdon as its next chief of staff.
As a former communications director for the Senate Majority Caucus and the current executive director of the Delaware Democratic Party, Chadderdon brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the newly expanded caucus.
“Jesse has the experience and knowledge needed to step in quickly and guide our operations through these challenging times,” President Pro Tempore-Elect David Sokola said. “He has proven himself to be a capable leader time and time again, and I am thrilled he will be re-joining us for the start of 151st General Assembly and this new direction for the Delaware State Senate.”
The Mo’ Better Democrats Watchlist For 2022
Starting with the premise that it takes time to successfully challenge incumbents, I decided to put together a list of incumbent Democrats who, in some cases, have already earned strong challenges in 2022, and those who had better up their games or face legit challengers. Prospective candidates, candidate recruiters, trainers and managers take note. This […]
Song of the Day 12/1: Earl-Jean, “I’m Into Something Good”
If you’re old enough, you probably know this as the first record by British invaders Herman’s Hermits, one that reached No. 1 in the UK (and No. 13 in the U.S.). But the first to record this Gerry Goffin-Carole King tune was Earl-Jean Reavis, lead singer of the second incarnation of the Cookies (the original […]

Trump Raises $150 Mill To Fight Phony Election Fraud Claims. You read that right. The trend continues: Trump never spends a penny of his own money on anything: Much of the money raised since the election is likely to go into an account for the president to use on political activities after he leaves office, […]
‘Bulo’s Fave Tunes: November 2020
One more compelling eclectic set of music before I hunker down to put together my 50 Fave Tunes Of The Year. I featured something like 160 songs in my monthly sets this year, and I’ll be culling other Best-Of lists for any songs I overlooked. You deserve only the best (I’m still working on my […]
Coons to denounce Biden’s incoming principal deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in 5, 4, 3, 2…
It is pavlovian. Some wingnuts accused a Democrat of being anti-israel, so Coons has to jump in to prove how bi-partisan and pro-Likud Party he is. Right-wing media are now setting out to demonize one of President-elect Joe Biden’s newly announced staff appointees, singling out the incoming principal deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, a former […]
Song of the Day 11/30: Derek Trucks Band, “Down in the Flood (Crash on the Levee)”
Bob Dylan wrote this during the Basement Tapes sessions in 1967 and has recorded it three times (none are available on YouTube, which Dylan’s people police pretty closely). None of his renditions packed the punch Derek Trucks gave the song on his 2009 album “Already Free.” Trucks said he chose the tune because “I figured […]

Biden’s All-Female WH Communications Team: Not a Sarah Huckabee Sanders or Kayleigh McEnany in the bunch. Not to mention Sean Spicer, who does not deserve mention. Also, some encouraging nominees for his economics team, with one contentious pick. Between 800-900,000 Absentee Ballots Requested For Georgia Runoff Election. With more to come. Y’know, the Election Day […]
What Do You Want To See The Delaware State Senate Address Next Year?
For probably the first time in the history of Delaware, the Delaware State Senate has progressive leadership, and more than enough progressive senators to tackle longstanding issues that have been kept on the backburner for years. Keep in mind that, if they try to do everything at once, they may end up getting little done. […]
