Brandywine School District Passes Referendum
Quick blurb because I’m still at Christina Board meeting, but Brandywine has passed their referenda by close to a four thousand vote margin!
9,612 FOR – 5,780 against.
Congratulations!
BSD also smashed Christina’s total turnout (13,395) by almost 2,000 votes: 15,392 total votes!
13,395 Votes
145 votes may not seem like a lot, but considering the margins from prior failed referenda: 2000 votes in February 2015, 900 votes in May 2015, there appears to be a trend emerging. 8100 total votes in February, 11,000 in May, 13,395 tonight. Do You Support Public Education in Delaware?
Christina has absolutely awesome programs. From the REACH program, to Gauger’s Business Professionals of America Team, to our outstanding arts programs, fantastic drama and performing arts programs, band and music programs, to Lego Robotics and Engineering clubs (YES! That’s a thing and makes me want to be in elementary school again!), career pathway programs like the new Forensic Science STEM program at Glasgow High School, Language Immersion programs to our amazing student athletes and budding philanthropists and advocates for those in need! These school programs are directly supported by operating funds raised through property taxes. And all of them depend on Christina’s operating referendum passing.

Brandywine School District Will Show The President’s Speech
Breaking now on the intertubes, Brandywine School District says it will show the president’s speech. Interim Superintendent Dr. Dane Brandenberger said there was a mixed message sent about Brandywine not airing the speech that was incorrect. Last week, parents said they’d heard that the speech would not be shown in the Brandywine School District. “Somehow […]
Something’s Changed at Brandywine School District
Yesterday when I found out that the Brandywine School District was not going to be showing the President of the United States’ speech to our children on Tuesday, I went to their website to get some addresses. The one thing I noticed was that there was a graphic on Meet the Finalist night with times […]
