True Confessions… Zimmerman Trial

True Confessions… Zimmerman Trial

Been crazy around here, but as I’m running around I’m listening to the George Zimmerman trial.  Fascinating stuff.  If you’re interested, it’s live streamed here.

Also, Charles Pierce has a great post on this.  Check it out.

But they persist. How could Martin have been smothering Zimmerman at the same time Zimmerman was, as he claimed, screaming his head off for help? (This question will not be settled by the testimony of voice experts, thanks to the judge’s ruling, though the jury will hear the tape.) This was just before the fatal gunshot.

“It’s continuous screaming,” another officer asks, “how can you be smothered?”

Damn good question.

“You think he might have seen you had a gun before he punched you?” the first officer asks.

Another damn good question.

“What was the provocation for punching you other than you were following him?” another officer asks.

By this time, Zimmerman is losing his patience. “I’ve gone through it a million times.” Despite his passion for justice, repeated questions about the death of a 17-year-old boy at his own hands annoys him.

First, the last paragraph of the affidavit reads: The facts mentioned in this Affidavit are not a complete recitation of all the pertinent facts and evidence in this case but only are presented for determination of Probable Cause for Second Degree Murder. Moving beyond that disclaimer and promise of more evidence, it sure looks like […]

Breaking: George Zimmerman’s Lawyers Give Up Representing Him; Say They’ve Lost Contact

Filed in National by on April 10, 2012 5 Comments

Uhrig said Zimmerman has taken his own steps since they lost contact with him on Sunday, including; 1) Setting up his own website under a different Web address than what the attorneys had arranged with him; 2) Speaking to Fox News’ Sean Hannity by phone, apparently off the record (“(Hannity) is not willing to tell us what our client told him”); and 3) Calling the special prosecutor’s office directly, as opposed to through his attorneys, and offering to come in and answer investigators’ questions (The prosecutor’s office told Zimmerman that they weren’t going to talk to him without counsel, Uhrig said).

Two Experts Say: Not George Zimmerman Crying For Help

A leading expert in the field of forensic voice identification sought to answer that question by analyzing the recordings for the Orlando Sentinel. His result: It was not George Zimmerman who called for help. Every claim Zimmerman has made about what happened that night with Trayvon Martin is now discredited. George Zimmerman needs to be arrested now.

Does George Zimmerman Look “Bloody And Battered?

Filed in National by on March 29, 2012 40 Comments

Ever since the press started reporting on Zimmerman’s injuries I fully expected to see pictures of a bloody nose, a bleeding gash on the back of his head that his attorney said should have required stitches. I expected to see George Zimmerman looking like he was beaten up.

The New Kato Kaelin

Filed in National by on March 28, 2012 2 Comments

Do you remember Kato Kaelin, the “friend” of OJ Simpson who supposedly witnessed “strange movements” by OJ that poked holes in his alibi? In the end, he was pretty much exposed as a publicity-seeking media whore who tried to make money off his connection to the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldberg.

Now we have Joe Oliver, the self-proclaimed “close friend” of George Zimmerman, the murderer of Trayvon Martin.

Questions That Need To Be Answered In The Trayvon Martin Case

Filed in National by on March 27, 2012 13 Comments

It wasn’t until Trayvon’s father, Tracy Martin, called to file a missing-persons report on Feb. 27 that police went to his fiancee’s house with pictures of his son’s dead body. News reports have said that Trayvon’s body was tagged as a John Doe. But the “Partial Report Only” that was completed at 3:07 a.m. on Feb. 27 lists Trayvon’s full name, city of birth, address and phone number. How did police get that information? Was Trayvon carrying identification? Did police try to contact that home number?
