Lotsa fascinating (and otherwise) bills introduced last week. Let’s take a look, shall we? You can follow along here, here, and here. For those with limited time, the first here here has the most there there. There there now, it’ll be alright.

First, and least, we have parts of the Rethuglican legislative agenda, courtesy of Rep. Ruth Briggs King. It’s what you’d expect. Opposition to strong automobile emission standards, and two more shots at prevailing wage, HB 6 and HB 7. Thanks for playing. King also tackles the rampant problem of ticket-scalping at the Delaware State Fair. Ticket scalping elsewhere would presumably still be OK. As far as I’m concerned, anybody willing to pay excessive prices for whatever big empty hat country performer the Fair brings in has a right to pay excessive prices. What we learned from the Primary: 1. The Gordon machine was the single most effective game-changer during the primary; 2. For once, Wilmington really made the difference this year; 3. Grassroots campaigns work, and they cost a lot less than the alternative; 4. Jack Markell is in danger of becoming a Drawbridge Democrat; 5. Tons of lit cannot compensate for personal unpopularity; and 6. Primaries are GOOD;

Markell Raises an Impressive $1.4 Million

and Charlie Copeland is either bitter or jealous enough to throw his own Republican gubernatorial candidate under the bus..

Former state Sen. Charlie Copeland, one of the governor’s chief Republican critics, said Markell’s $1.4 million is more than enough to win a gubernatorial race in Delaware. “I think anytime he leaves the state, he’s having a fundraiser,” said Copeland, who is supporting [little known Brandywine business man Jeff] Cragg. “Why are all of these people out-of-state giving him this money he’s not going to need this year?”

I am suprised Charlie had to ask the question, but in so doing, he made a glaring admission.
