Late Night Video — Kid President Gives You a Pep Talk

I love this kid. This might be the best video of the year — already. It is hard to pick my favorite bits, but the You Can Cry About It or You Can Dance About It, works as advice I especially needed recently. Kid President wants you to know that the time to be awesome is now (approx. 3.5 minutes long):

Late Night Video — The Daily Show Investigates the Death of Investigative Journalism

This is so much awesome — John Oliver doing the Daily Show investigative report into why investigative reporting is dying in American newsrooms. Once more — The Daily Show commits an act of news that neither the news networks or newspeople could manage (approx. 6 minutes):

Late Night Video — Unions Are Needed

Awesome rant by this MSNBC commentator (with the cringeworthy name of) Krystal Ball. She reminds us that one of the things not touched on in President Obama’s inaugural speech was the health of unions, and reminds us that the war on unions coincides with the stagnation of American wages. And just like that, I find Kevin Drum pointing to a Bloomberg piece comparing us to Canada. Be sure to take a good look at the comparison of income inequality between US and Canada:

Late Night Video — EXXON Hates Your Children

The Other 98% has created this ad that sounds as though it will air nationally next week. It is meant to point out the absurdity of giving EXXON $10B in taxpayer subsidies while climate change is making itself felt. It also helps that this is circulating during the “fiscal cliff” BS — if John Boehner is looking for cuts to save money, here is one to start with.

Late Night Video — Gettysburg Address

Today is the 149th anniversary of Lincoln’s delivery of this speech that he presented at the dedication of the Soldier’s National Cemetery in Gettysburg. It was commemorated with remarks by Steven Spielberg, near the site where Lincoln gave his address. The video below is Gregory Peck delivering the address:
