Mike Castle Goes Out of Town to Get His Inner Wingnut On
On Monday, Castle went to Philly to be part of a panel of legislators to discuss Health Insurance reform for some radio show.
What is interesting about this is that Castle abandoned his so-called “moderation” for some pandering to the wingnut base:
Mike Castle Taking Credit for Yet Another ARRA Project
A reminder to everyone following at home — Mike Castle proudly voted against the Recovery Act.
And yet, here he is — front and center taking credit — for helping Wesley College get a new piece of equipment.
Thoughts On Mike Castle’s Townhall

Delaware Dem and I attended Mike Castle’s townhall yesterday. You can read this thread for a play-by-play of what happened. My impression is that Castle delivered two opposing messages: the need for reform and slow down what’s the hurry. The eyebrow raising moment of the night is when Castle said in his opening that he […]
Liveblogging Castle’s Townhall Meeting
Delaware Dem and I are here. There’s a big turnout of pro-reform people. No one looks angry yet. Plus, Mike Protack is here. Castle speaking… Why are people so excited? Because everyone has an interest in health care. Castle says this is his third live townhall + 3 telephone townhalls. Lots of police here – […]
Mike Castle Townhall Tonight!
DD posted about this yesterday, but I’m posting again to ask two favors. Favor #1: Please try to attend if you can. Castle may be a lost cause, but we need to let him know where his constituents stand on health care reform. Favor #2: I’m going to try to attend if I can (I […]
So When Are the Carper, Kaufman and Castle Local Town Halls?
According to this Community News article:
For now, none of the three are holding public forums or town hall meetings before returning to the Capitol Sept. 8, according to their aides.
In Which We See a Castle vs Biden Senate Race Becomes the CW

Tom Schaller over at Five Thirty Eight takes a long look at the possibility of a Republican taking the Senate seat previously held by Barack Obama. He cites an article written over at the Rothenberg Political Report notes that a seat held by someone who has gone to the White House (either President or VP) has flipped 50% of the time, but since the numbers involved are pretty small it is hard to know what that means. But before he gets to looking at the landscape of the Senate race in IL, he stops in Delaware first:
A New Mike Castle Decision Window –UPDATE
Allan Loudell spoke to Mike Castle on WDEL news today about a number of subjects, and Castle indicated to Allan that he would be making a decision re: his electoral future in the “next month or so”.
Republicans Are (Not, Well Maybe) The Party Of Crazy Eileen
Republicans, we warned you this would happen if you didn’t act to quell the birthers. Now you’re hostages to the birther movement. Is this the image you want to project? Mike Stark from the Huffington Post went to Capitol Hill to ask Republicans if they believe Obama is an natural-born citizen. Watch the Republicans try […]
News Journal Belatedly Addresses The Birthers
Cross-posted at Daily Kos. The News Journal has been pretty late in the game in discussing what happened in Georgetown with Mike Castle and the birthers, but they have an article in today’s paper about the incident. The thrust of the article is about the distorting effect of the YouTube age, but it does get […]
Mike Castle Taking Credit for Another ARRA Project Here (Updated w/ DL Graphinator)

While looking for links to the DNREC info on the denial of the permit, this is what I found (complete with supersized stunt check) : This was for an announcement by Gov. Markell of Wasterwater project funding by the Recovery bill. I don’t think that this incident of Mike Castle showing up to help take […]
Mike Castle’s Electorial Conundrum
It seems to me that the Castle videos we were looking at from the townhall downstate captured this split between the old school conservative elite (Castle) and the so-called grassroots looking for their populist due.
Castle Votes No On Healthcare Reform
Mike Castle voted no on the healthcare reform bill from the House HELP committee, citing the tax on the top 1.5% of wealthy Americans as his reason.
