Voters Blame Trade Deals For Job Losses
Surprised? According to the most recent Gallup Poll, one in four Americans think that jobs is the highest priority problem in America today. It’s almost one in two Americans if you combine concerns for unemployment and the economy. Only 8% of Americans think that the debt or deficit is a high-priority problem (pointed out for the Delaware Congressional delegation, in particular). Take a look:
Toplines for Delaware Political Polling!
Following up on my post from Saturday, we now have (courtesy of Mr. Paul Brewer) the toplines of The University of Delaware’s Center for Political Communication National Agenda Poll from September 2013. (pdf) I’ve asked Mr. Brewer about their long term plans for this poll and it looks like this might be a once a year event — dependent upon available resources. But Fresh Delaware polling! Yay!
Not Buying the Most Dangerous City in America Label
You know by now that Parenting Magazine put out a piece yesterday that states that Wilmington is the most violent city in America, ahead of places like St. Louis, Baltimore and New Orleans:
Thursday Open Thread [2.9.12]
Earlier this morning I said Rush Limbaugh was right. It pained me to type those words, but in that instance, in describing his own party, his own base, he should be right since they follow his command. Rush being right in that context is far different than being right morally, legally and ethically. Like Bill O’Reilly is in the following instance. Click through for that and more polling goodness.
People Hate This Process, And They Hate The People Who Indulged In It
Mostly. The Pew Research Center for the People & the Press did a poll over the weekend asking people their thoughts on the Fake Debt Crisis negotiations and the results aren’t especially good for anyone here. Be clear, however, that you are looking at a poll that assesses the perceptions of the people involved — […]
It’s Official: Americans Hate the Ryan Budget
There has been alot of polling on the GOP plan to kill Medicare. The latest version is from CNN, with 58% opposing and 35% for. Another recent poll shows that Democrats agree to major cutbacks to Medicare at their own risk.
An Interesting Poll
Steve Benen breaks it down, but here is what stands out to me: Elsewhere in the poll, Americans said they are concerned about the deficit, but when asked about nine different ideas for deficit reduction, the public opposed all nine. Try not to be surprised. [emphasis mine] Seriously, we’re all talk. About that GOP mandate… […]
Polling: In Which We Find Republicans Still Have a Problem
It is fair to note that this poll shows a pretty toxic environment for both parties, but it seems clear that if you are a Congressional Dem, you have abit of an edge to build from. And if you are a Congressional repub, the massive media spin (and media lock) isn’t exactly getting you alot of traction. Not yet, at least.
Americans Want More Jobs Spending and They Want Rich People to Pay for It
Americans want their government to create jobs through spending on public works, investments in alternative energy or skills training for the jobless.
They also want the deficit to come down. And most are ready to hand the bill to the wealthy.
Castle 45- Biden 39
That is the result of the Public Policy Polling poll that they completed this week (as we all voted on last week). From the PPP blog: Two major trends have shown up in both polls to give Castle the early advantage. The first is an overwhelming 52-23 lead with independents. That mirrors a national trend […]

Republicans Are Still Really Unpopular
The conventional wisdom this summer was that the GOP was ascendant because of the passion of the teabaggers and that they stand to gain seats in the 2010 elections. However, polling data over this period has shown a decrease in support for Democrats but has not shown any subsequent rise in favorability of the Republican […]
United We Stand
According to a new survey it looks as if Americans are more united than divided. Nate Silver (538) breaks it down. The questions cover a variety of issues, asking the participants to rate (on a scale of 0-10) whether they agree or disagree. You can take the test here. Luckily, Nate does the hard work […]
