The Latest Performance from the DE GOP Clown Show
Remember in 2012 when Jeff Cragg and Sher Valenzuela perfected the technique of campaigning for a Delaware office someplace other than in Delaware? That was seriously awesome, even though I don’t see those SE PA votes tallied anywhere on the Delaware Department of Elections site. But I digress. This cycle, Kevin Wade is taking that technique of campaigning for Delaware votes someplace else To A Whole New Level. Kevin Wade has gone to Israel:
on a week-long fact-finding mission in Israel, on the ground right now (July 29). Wade is researching the situation on the ground and interviewing many. Kevin Wade is also a co-host with the Conservative Commandos Radio Show. Wade will be posting interviews on YouTube from the war zone in Israel.
The Delaware GOP Is Waiting for What?
The NJ had an article in Tuesday’s paper with this misleading title: Republicans wait as O’Donnell weighs another campaign. That title gives you the impression that there is something weighty and momentous going on here — that party leadership is somehow deferring to their local wingnut welfare grifter to give her first shot at running for the U.S. Senate against Chris Coons.
No Quarter
This post is an odd one to write because all it is is a rather long answer to one trivia question: Who wrote the bill which created the most successful commemorative coin series in the history of the United States? This post has nothing to do with my dislike of Mike Castle as he has only proved himself to be an eager lapdog of the Republican Party leadership over the last decade. This is trivia only.
Coons for Senate’s Bad Start
I just got an email from the Coons campaign. The topic of the email was PayGo. Seriously?
Look, I like the idea of PayGo, but here’s how Coons puts it:
Every week, I’m watching Congress debate incredibly important issues that impact Delaware, even though they often don’t get much press attention. Last week, the House of Representatives voted to reinstate “pay-as-you-go” rules. It doesn’t sound exciting, but these rules make it much more difficult for Congress to increase spending or cut taxes unless they also vote for a way to pay for it.
Chris Coons is In
From the inbox:
I am pleased to announce to you, my friends and long-time supporters, my candidacy for Delaware’s open seat in the United States Senate. In the coming weeks, I will formally kick off my campaign with formal announcements in each county.
Health Care Plan Comparison
Comparison between the Democratic plan and the GOP plan: Mike Castle voted against the Democratic plan and for the GOP plan. Yet another reason why Mike Castle must not be allowed to represent us in the US Senate.
Good News, Bad News for Beau Biden
It was a bad December in Sussex county in the last two weeks of the month, while they should have been enjoying family and friends, Sussex citizens were fretting about crimes. There was an abduction and murder of a young girl just over the state line in Maryland (her body was found on Christmas day). […]
Washington Post: Will Beau Run?
Long speculative piece from today’s Washington Post. I found these comments from Jack Markell a little–incongruous: “He’s not the type of guy who is going to let other people’s timetables dictate his,” said Jack Markell, the Delaware governor, the family-chosen surrogate. He argued forcefully that the prospect of Biden failing to protect his father’s seat […]
