Matt Yglesias made a great point about the Conservative Movement the other day — their entire political identity is wrapped up in Being In Power. There is nothing about government that is at all legitimate unless they are in charge. Spoiled children, in other words.

There is nothing about government that is at all legitimate unless they are in charge.
….and when in power there is nothing they do can be viewed as illegitimate.
No use of the levers of government for political purposes crosses the lines. No abuse of the constitution is regarded as unjustifiable. No debt accrued is a burden on future generations. And there is no transparently anti-American policy that can’t be cheered on by flag waving morons.
How much you want to bet that “bulldogusmc” is a chronic bed wetter?
The Secret Service should be taking that question up with him soon.
They certainly should — give these wingnuts something else to whinge over. And I’d bet the guy isn’t USMC, either.
I hope people show up dressed as Alice in Wonderland characters, or people come with empty teacups and lumps of sugar. That would be hilarious. I’m not sure if disruptive humor would be appreciated by that paranoid crowd, though.

Honestly, I’ve been avoiding any “Tea Party,” “Tea Bagging,” “Tee times” (that last one is a bummer) stuff since it became “en vogue.” To me, it’s simply another set up for PR disaster.
Anyway, a thought popped into my head today (after which, I will shut down for April, having already met my quota) about “Tea Baggers Delight”. If they are protesting this tax day, Tax Day 2009, aren’t they technically then protesting the tax policies of yester-administrations, in other words non-Obama policies?

It would make sense, since most of these “protesters” would not even benefit from their platform. In other words, they are pimped out by the true base of the
bowelmovement – the 250k+ crowd.These fools should know they’re being used by people who they’ve never met, never will socialize with, and probably hold them in the same regard as if a squatter tented-up in their backyard.

The teabaggers are a means to an end, nothing more than oxen pulling a cart. And after the pull, they will be eaten.
I just saw on Twitter that Glenn Beck is backing out of the SF tea party. He’s saying he’s a distraction. I wonder what that means. Was he worried that he can’t control his tears or is he afraid of being linked to the tea baggers?
Beck’s getting nervous. He’s stirred up a lot of nut cases, and now he’s trying to distance himself – I see no other reason for him to back out, and the distraction excuse is laughable.
Wonder if he got in trouble with that disturbing email Cassandra linked to in the post?
I think it was a comment on Beck’s blog that Cassandra linked to. It was quite disturbing. I wonder if they’re afraid of violence.
I’m sorry it was the San Antonio Tea Party that Beck backed out of. Don’t despair for San Antonio, though, you can still attend his $500/plate fundraiser! Apparently, Ted Nugent is going to perform the national anthem. I’m sure the participants are overjoyed.

Thanks, UI — I added that to tomorrow’s list of atrocities. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason Back finally gives is one that makes him look like the victim — crazy ACORN liberals are after him or some BS.
