Keeping An Eye on the Crazies

Filed in National by on April 13, 2009

Obama has driven the modern GOP and its followers crazier than the Deliverance Banjo Kid on crack. We all get that.

Paul Krugman points out that it is a good idea to keep an eye on them.

But here’s the thing: the G.O.P. looked as crazy 10 or 15 years ago as it does now. That didn’t stop Republicans from taking control of both Congress and the White House. And they could return to power if the Democrats stumble. So it behooves us to look closely at the state of what is, after all, one of our nation’s two great political parties.

That’s why I’m gratified to see that so many liberals will be out this Wednesday to document the craziness at the great tea bagging.

It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on crazy people. That said, I’ve been reading a number of articles from tea baggers concerned that their attendants will be portrayed as crazy.

Hmm… why would this be a concern?

    Pandora,

I see that great minds think alike. Sorry about stepping on your Krugman post.

I’ll be seeking out crazy people at the Dover event in order to have them sign ACORN petitions.

Who’s going to be out documenting the tea parties? I dare them to wear a giant Alice in Wonderland type hat.
