Compelling Presidential Advisors to Testify

As you may have seen, we are looking at a showdown in Congress this week. Looks like the Democrats are ready to subpoena some senior Bush officials. Yesterday Fox News’ Tony Snow said that the administration will oppose these subpoenas.  The Congressional Research Service did a report on times when Presidential advisors were called to testify.  There are some interesting precedents.  Here is the whole CRS report.

    I love the logic behind the claims that Rove can’t testify under oath because it would hamper his ability to lie.
