Around the Horn: It’s the War Stupid! Edition

Filed in Uncategorized by on June 1, 2007

It has been a short week and I’m glad to see it gone. It should be a perfect weekend, so enjoy it.

This week saw the airing of the first DelawareLiberal.Net radio ad. I do fear that more people have listened here than on WDEL, but hey, we’re more informative. Great work Jason on making this happen. You were truly a leader in this project and it is a huge success.

In local blogging news, Tyler Nixon is a hero to Dana (with Video), Mike Matthews and Nancy and Dave Burris. Nice spectrum of people there. Tyler, get a blog so I can pick on you in Around the Horn!

There were quite a few postings honoring the fallen for Memorial Day. My favorites were Tommywonk’s, Protack’s (at FSP) and Nancy.

Over at DWA, Mike has some footage from The Hott Spott to show you what you’ve been missing. That is some funny stuff.

Nancy has more secrecy/privacy/lawlessness from Cheney. I swear more public records have been destroyed by these guys that other Presidents have generated.

Even on vacation, KarmicJay puts on a good show. This week with his post about the media and the insanity that is our preoccupation with the stupid.

Don’t miss Kavips’ post to learn about who W’s favorite President is. It does pretty much confirm what I have thought for years, he believed the “wimp” label.

Ryan Mc at Liberal Delight has been laid up after surgery, but should be back in full blogging splendor in time for Jason’s scorn.

Tommywonk covers the Bush’s apparent evolution in the climate change debate with a caveat. You can’t necessarily take George’s word on it.

Duffy is overjoyed that the poor are working their asses off. The bottom quintile of the American economy saw a 35% jump in their income, mostly attributed to more work, not welfare. Duffy thinks this is good, since poor people shouldn’t get to see their families… By the way, those are the Mexicans working those long hours. They are so industrious, now get out!

Mike Mahaffie has coverage of the 50th anniversary of the first digital image. It is amazing how far we’ve come. Then you look at Kilroy’s photoshops

Protack has a story of how the VA is improving care and saving money using electronic records. Too bad government can’t do anything right.

Speaking of not being able to do anything right, Hube is in full-out Israel is great mode with this post about how a college union is upset about demonizing Muslims. I think he just hates people that go to college.

Dave Burris is overjoyed that he has helped spark a fire over at DNREC with this post. Either way, it’s good to see that FSP is on the move.

At Gazizza, Paul still harbors a grudge against the Phillies and Von Hayes. It’s not like they sold Babe Ruth, Paul…

Ryan at JttR is in flux between blogs. You can read a teaser for his Fred Thompson post here, or you can just go to the post directly, here.

Kilroy is worked up about a bill to expand the ability of the Brandywine School Board to exempt people from paying taxes. Weird stuff.

3,475 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq. Another 64,664(minimum) civilians have perished there. Enjoy your weekend.

much as i’d like to take credit, the DNREC scoop came from another in my band of merry men.

I give your site credit for the ignition, and you credit for being proud of the results.

I thought I was pretty cool for getting two mentions, but quickly noticed that DWA and Kilroy did as well, and FSP and Nancy got three links each. It may have been a short week, but the Delaware blogosphere was busy place.

And may I say Mr. Geek, that you’ve been doing a great job with ATH. You cover the bases with grace and wit. I particularly like the snark about fifty years of progess in digital imaging and Kilroy’s Photoshop productions.

Gracias. I appreciate the compliment. I tried to tie issues together to make sense of this mad blogosphere, and sometimes people end up with a couple of mentions.

  5. HAHAHAHAHA
FAP and Nancy vie for lead in Horniness…

    or
    something

FSP refuses to acknowledge my blog’s existence!
and Dana refuses to acknowledge my blog’s conversation (? because he thinks I am some kind of corrupted stooge of inured DEMs like McDowell/hahahahahaha)

    Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaha

I figure that these are some of my best credentials!
