Top Al Gore Aid Burns CIA Agent: National Security Put At risk

Washington (AP) – The revelation that Vice President Al Gore’s top aid, Scooter Libby, may have been involved in the outing of covert CIA operative Valerie Plame has sent shock waves through the Capital.

Ms. Plame had been working on tracking weapons of mass destruction when she was outed by Gore’s aid. Although it is still murky as to whether the alleged disclosure was for political purposes, Republicans and Democrats alike are calling for Gore’s impeachment.

“This is a horrible crime” said Senate Democrat Joe Lieberman “Congress must take this type of treason very seriously. If this is not a ‘high crime or misdemeanor’ I don’t know what is.”

    Except:
    1. Valarie Plame was introduced by her husband, Joe Wilson, as a CIA agent numerous times
    2. the non-indictment of Richard Armitage by Fitzgerald
Signals that no crime was committed.

And anyway, the indictment of an aide is not cause for impeachment.

It’s about as treasonous as Harry Reid saying the Iraq War is lost.

    No links…no wonder.

Where do you dig up this bullshit?

By the way, you ignore the premise of the post. Do you think the same exact facts would have been treated differently if the VP was named Gore and not Cheney?

Don’t reply. You’ve spun enough RNC BS for one day.

Here is a conversation between Armitage and Bob Woodward:

Woodward: Well it was Joe Wilson who was sent by the agency, isn’t it?
Armitage: His wife works for the agency.
Woodward: Why doesn’t that come out? Why does that have to be a big secret?
    Armitage: (over) Everybody knows it.
    Woodward: Everyone knows?
Armitage: Yeah. And they know ’cause Joe Wilson’s been calling everybody. He’s pissed off ’cause he was designated as a low level guy went out to look at it. So he’s all pissed off.
Woodward: But why would they send him?
Armitage: Because his wife’s an analyst at the agency.
    Woodward: It’s still weird.
Armitage: He – he’s perfect. She – she, this is what she does. She’s a WMD analyst out there.
    Woodward: Oh, she is.
    Armitage: (over) Yeah.
    Woodward: Oh, I see. I didn’t think…
Armitage: (over) “I know who’ll look at it.” Yeah, see?
Woodward: Oh. She’s the chief WMD…?
    Armitage: No. She’s not the…
Woodward: But high enough up that she could say, “oh, yeah, hubby will go.”
    Armitage: Yeah. She knows [garbled].
Woodward: Was she out there with him, when he was…?
Armitage: (over) No, not to my knowledge. I don’t know if she was out there. But his wife’s in the agency as a WMD analyst. How about that?

OOOOH, OOH. If Libby was Gore’s aide, I guess I better change my opinion. Because as we all know I only take an opinion if it is counter to the democrats.

The real questions, Jasey Boy, is in your hypothetical situation, would your position have been different….. Probably.
