Charles Lamont DuPont Von Copeland loves his desk drawer.

Grapevine

This is actually a GOP two-fer. He got to be anti-open government and anti-gay at the same time.

That’s the stupidest argument I’ve seen in a long time.

The committee system is a long-standing facet of government. Losing a committee vote is a legitimate way to prevent legislation from proceeding. It always has been.

There is a big difference between denying a bill a fair hearing by putting it in a drawer and giving the bill a hearing, public comment and a vote.

Tagging this as anti-open government is as intellectually disingenuous as it comes. It’s just not true.

Let the Senate vote. That is open government.

    Well. Well. Well.

Looks like we are seeing old Monty Crapland’s true colors now that his dreams to be governor are shitcanned.

He is making a nice place for himself next to John “Crazy After All These Years” Still.

  4. FSP says:

No. Open government is “Let the people see all that the Senate is doing and judge for themselves.”

Good goverment is “Let the bill have a fair hearing and a vote.”

It did. It failed. One of these times, it will pass, but probably not until after Thurman is gone.

    flible-flable, jibitty-jabble.

FPS’s urge to spin this is noted.

Bottom line: Copeland had the chance to do the right thing and passed.

You mean you agree that this is a stupid argument, and that both you and Celia are being intellectually disingenuous?

Glad to see you admit that.

I’m in support of the need to reform the Committee System as it stands, I’ve gone on about it at length here and there … but this Bill, albeit after many years recieved it’s hearing, finally, and didn’t have the support to make the floor.

To pin the status of SB 141 on Sen. Copeland is nothing short of partisan spin, but I guess that’s politics, and this a liberal site …
