“we’re supposed to be thankful – you kill my family and I shiould say ‘thank you'”

I think Iraqi-Americans have every right to be pissed off.

This kid is good. This is a powerful piece and reminds me of Eminem’s Mosh video.

But the fact that this Iraqi-American kid has this message saddens me. Yesterday I heard reports of the latest Pew Global Attitudes Survey showing further deterioration of America’s image throughout the world. Even more, the image and trust in the leadership of all major powers seems to have taken a hit. Most disappointing is that the so-called Conversation with the Muslim World that Karen Hughes is supposed to be doing seems to have become another BushCo no-show job as attitudes towards us, and our foreign policy and our ideas on democracy have gotten worse.

And so we see the result of a 6+ year leadership deficit, or, more generously, leadership designed to just look good on American cable TV and I have no illusions that a change of Presidents is going to make a huge change in this direction.
