Mike Castle hates symbolic bills (unless he loves them)

This Democratic bill to make it US policy not to build permanent bases in Iraq is nice. It also prohibits us from exercising “United States economic control of the oil resources of Iraq” which is cool.

Let’s face it though. With Bush in the White House it is symbolic at best. When the next appropriations bill comes around I gaurantee we’ll see Congressman Barney Fife renew his disdain for symbolic congressional gestures.
