Not to hijack the thread, but I’ve noted that almost every talking head lately, when questioned about the opinion of another politician, begins the reply with “I’ve known [so-and-so] for [X] years.”

What the f*** does that have to do with anything?

In this case Webb said it just prior to knocking McCain’s head off with a shovel. So maybe it was to soften the blow.

What I hate is when the “news” person prefaces statements with “many people say that.[X]”

Who are thesemany people? – what motive do they have for saying [X]

Who was that awful comentator? I purely hate it when the “journalist” is too busy making his/her own points to listen to the reply to his/her question. Guess that’s why I don’t watch TV news anymore — except, of course, Keith Olbermann.

I love defeatocrats that somehow think that because you find their politics naive and just plain dangerous, you must not be able to read. By the way, they usually suck at the whole “Illustrating absurdity with the absurd” strategum. But since the absurdity exists only in their minds it is hardly surprising.

If you support Webb are you a “defeatocrat”? Webb was a Republican Sec of the Navy and Asst. Sec of Defense. And he cited the constitutional basis for this action (article and section).

Can anyone think of a way to meld Republican and Delusional-Hypocrite-Douche Bag into a snappy moniker like “defeatocrat”?
