Maybe blowing random people up and spreading misery across the globe is not what Jesus wants his followers to do.

It’s about time.

Today the president’s support among evangelicals, still among his most loyal constituents, has crumbled. Once close to 90 percent, the president’s approval rating among white evangelicals has fallen to a recent low below 45 percent, according to polls by the Pew Research Center. White evangelicals under 30 — the future of the church — were once Bush’s biggest fans; now they are less supportive than their elders. And the dissatisfaction extends beyond Bush. For the first time in many years, white evangelical identification with the Republican Party has dipped below 50 percent, with the sharpest falloff again among the young, according to John C. Green, a senior fellow at Pew and an expert on religion and politics.

no it is, just listen to Bush

  2. Chris says:

You guys see Bush as being so extreme right-wing. But you are so off base. He has lost support among that democratic PRECISELY because he is not conservative enough in some areas. First and foremost the rampant spending (military aside). He is not following conservative fiscal policies. He may also have lost support because he has not delivered the goods on the moral agenda. He has not put an end to murder of the unborn and has had only marginal success with preserving traditional marriage.

These may be issues that you feel are completely wrong, but nevertheless, they are issue important to that demographic. And Bush has not given them what they want.

Chris says that Bush has the potential to be actually more of an idiot.

“Chris says that Bush has the potential to be actually more of an idiot.”

I think actually what I said was that Bush was too liberal for that demographic. But I can understand the confusion. Liberals and idiots do tend to be the same thing.

Well that’s understandable. He’s been SO busy with the born.

and has had only marginal success with preserving traditional marriage.

Social conservatives can have all these things in their OWN lives if they want them.

They are just pissed our remaining democratic institutions have prevented them from imposing their practices on others.

And you say Dems are trying to create a nanny state.
