Welcome to the Future

Filed in Uncategorized by on December 14, 2007

Hello and welcome to our new home.  Look around and check out the digs.

We have added several new features such as polling, comment repair with AJAX, a countdown time, weather and even a mobile website (try it from your phone!).

There will certainly be kinks to be worked out, but hopefully they will be quickly fixed.  Please let me know how you like it in the comments section.

    Ooh. Very nice. Polls, even.

  2. jason330 says:

I’m so psyched about the polls.

On Wednesday morning, December 19th, at 10:59 am, your ticker should say 1 YEAR, 1 MONTH, 1 DAY, 1 HOUR, 1 MINUTE……..

We should do some type of celebration at that time. Sort of like a Grand Opening, several days after it has opened…. What a great thing to celebrate…..

    Dave –

I need my password and the admin URL sent to me again because of the stupid web mail inteface on my lap top totally sucks.

I also need to get with you about how to start working with my jason330(at)delawareliberal email.

    Thanks!

Actually, folks, that’s a joke. It is specifically against the terms and conditions to specifically encourage clicks. It is also a violation for you, me and DV to click on our own ads.

    Just sayin…

    Calling…

  7. I really like the changes, guys. Good on ya!

  8. Rebecca says:

Great job, I luv it! Thanks for all the work you’ve put into this Geek, and Jason and all the rest of youse guys.

  9. Rebecca says:

Wow! I’ve got this typo message right now. Neat!

  10. Who ever YOU want it to be says:

Happy you are anywhere on the web that I can find you. Nice ‘clean’ site. My one quasi-negative comment is in regards to the type face (font)….I prefer Ariel or sans sarif style….I find it easier to read.

I’ll go on record as saying that the whole theme needs some work. The contrast is way too stark and eye-searing. Just not comfortable to look at.

The added extras are okay, though.

  12. Dana says:

Looks a lot better than the old site. One slight problem, however: with Internet Explorer 6.0, with the font size set to medium, the main body column is slightly too wide, and the right hand sidebar is automatically scrolled down to the bottom. This could be fixed by narrowing the main body (not the best idea) or widening the total presentation, preferably to full-screen.

I’d also suggest the quick-tags plug-in, to help people unfamiliar with php code to format comments more easily.

I miss the section listing the most recent comments.

Thanks for the tips. I will look into doing some tweaks to the theme. And Nancy, the most recent comments is now confusingly labeled “Recent Comments.”

    🙂

You can find it on the right part of the screen, under the Box.Net widget.

    Very beautiful!

I think it’s easy to read.

Where this at: “even a mobile website (try it from your phone!).”

  16. RickJ says:

The site has a great mobile interface. Now you can aggrevate me at home and on the road!

  17. liberalgeek says:

Dana, just point your phone at http://www.delawareliberal.net. This plugin automagically detects that you are coming from a mobile device and modifies the presentation. Apparently it is good enough to annoy RickJ (with the content) and that’s good enough for me. 🙂

  18. R Smitty says:

Yo, Geek! You’re not a contributor! Look at your “contributors” widget.

I get to spell check myself? Woo! This be sumthin speshul!

O/T: Have you been threatened with a lawsuit yet over that certain post referencing a certain gubantorial candidate?

  20. Thanks Geek, 🙂

I have changed the background a little, so I hope it improves the starkness of the site. I’ll play with fonts a little over the next few days to see what I can figger out… CSS and webdev isn’t really my cup o’ tea.

    Much Better, geek!
