Joe Rogalsky is Kicking Ass for Markell

Filed in National by on January 9, 2008

I knew the Markell campaign was tight, but with the addition of Rogalsky they are simple rocking the house.

Markell kicked off the Obama endosrment-a-go-go, and he is driving the narrative each news cyle. Rogalsky gets big props from me in his role as markell’s communications director.

Even today the Markell campaign has turned the dialogue to which candidate is picking up money and supporters.

The lastest press release:

Jack Markell announced today that his campaign will file a record-shattering campaign finance report later this month. The Markell campaign will report that almost 3,000 supporters contributed to the campaign, giving over $1.6 million in new donations.

Markell said “With so many people contributing their time and money to the campaign, it shows that an overwhelming number of Delawareans share my vision. I’m the only candidate with a plan to improve Delaware by providing high quality, affordable health care to all Delawareans, to create 25,000 jobs during my first term in office and to make Delaware a national leader in renewable energy and conservation.”

I love it.

Meanwhile Levin is still figuring out if he is going to challenege Mike Protack on the GOP side.

  1. disbelief says:

Hindsight: the GOP should have taken a pass on the Ennis special election and put all its eggs in the Carson special election.

Foresight: let Protack run against Markell so that the GOP has a built-in excuse for getting crushed.

  2. disbelief says:

I loved Carney’s campaign manager’s response to “How much did you guys raise?”
“Fuck you, we raised plenty. Now go away; I’m in a bad enough mood already.”

  3. FSP says:

Has Jack publicly attributed his health care plan to Romney yet?

  4. Whoever YOU want it to be says:

Dave we don’t want no wacky health care plan that has proven not to work. I ‘ve cautioned you before to lay off the wacky weed or intake enough so you begin to see the light.

  5. South of Canal says:

    I back Jack!!!

He is the first candidate I ever contributed any money too, but it sounds like I may have been one of many Delaware first timers. His message renewed my hope that there are some really, really, really good people in Delaware politics with great ideas.

I suppose we should brace ourselves for the Carney Camp’s poor mouthing and attempt to cover up their failing s by saying things like “This election is about ideas, not money”. If the Carney camp has any good ideas, they must be awful lonely.

Markell has been kicking ass on the ideas, and now is proving he can kick ass on fund raising.

With these ideas and the ability to raise funds like this, there should be no doubt that Markell is not only an innovator, but has the executive skills to implement good ideas.

Better days are ahead for Delaware.

Go Jack Go. I’ll be sending another check soon!!!

  6. Undecided Voter says:

When is the primary? It is Jack Markell versus John Carney on the Democrat side and Mike Protack unopposed for the Republicans.

  7. FSP says:

$100 says “South of Canal” is Markell staff.

“Dave we don’t want no wacky health care plan that has proven not to work. I ‘ve cautioned you before to lay off the wacky weed or intake enough so you begin to see the light.”

Then ask Markell why he pilfered the Romney plan, repackaged it, and called it his own.

whoever you are you are my kind of whoever!

  9. South of Canal says:

FSP. Are you serious about the $100 or just blowing smoke up someones ass? For $100 bucks, I will give you my true identity so I can make another contribution to Jack!!!

  10. R Smitty says:

Crap. for $100, I’ll just say it is me. We all know I live south of the canal, anyway.

Dave, I’ll take it in brand new, crisp, one dollar increments. Thanks.

Oh, and I WON’T give it to Jack…all the better.

  11. liberalgeek says:

Ah, but Smitty, you must guess South of Canal’s email address, which only those privileged few have access to. If you can name it, I’ll authorize Dave paying you.

  12. FSP says:

SoC – You get Markell to publicly admit he stole Romney’s plan, and we’ll talk.

  13. Al Mascitti says:

Uh, Dave — who really cares where he got it? I wouldn’t be so quick to take credit for it anyway, seeing as it’s already running higher than budgeted.

News flash: It makes no difference what the details of a plan might be; none would make it through the GA without severe amendment. There’s only one distinction to make with health-care plans: single-payer or insurer-based? Everything else is angels dancing on the head of a pin stuck in the arm of a deckchair on the Titanic.

  14. R Smitty says:

Is it liberalgeek -at- yahoo.com? Wait, you live near that tavern somewhere in the woods…that’s north…you Yankee. bselander -at- wdel.com? He’s a homer times 100.

Man, I am trying…could use the Franklin.

    Hmm…I know it’s not mprotack -at- blahblahblah.com.

I’ll go with dis…whatever email address that is.

No fear, tho. Dave and I are buds. If he gives me that $100, then it’s $100 NOT going to Jack, but to a worthy cause…running to the new border here and celebrating Hardee’s grand opening.

Invest in statin pharma companies now. My habits will make you wealthy.

  15. disbelief says:

What’s the big deal on “stealing” ideas, Dave? Was Lincoln a thief because he ‘stole’ the idea of banning slavery from earlier, enlightened politicians? You seem to have this grinding need to attack the person instead of the idea. If the idea is good, doesn’t it make sense that others should back it?

If our country should finally ban the death penalty, would you, Dave, condemn the idea because it was ‘stolen’ from the Europeans?

  16. R Smitty says:

I mention dis and he appears. It’s freaking magic.

I know I didn’t answer your (geek’s) question correctly, but I still want the $100. Momma needs a new pair of shoes and a chalupa.

  17. Al Masciti is correct about the GA making changes, probably a lot of changes. However as it stands now our plan is universal for the same amount of money we spend now, Jack deserves credit but his will cost at least $100 million more a year.

We use common sense and seperate insurance from employment and provide choice and competition.

We will unveil an energy policy which is a follow on to the wind farm.

    Stay tuned.

  18. liberalgeek says:

Smitty – No Benjamins for you. You’ll have to get your chalupa somewhere else.

Dave- sounds like you’re welshing on a bet, to me.

  19. disbelief says:

Crap. That reminds me I owe a couple posters for the DSU/UD game.

  20. Worker Walt says:

With Levin waiting so long Markell has made it impossible for Loser Levin to be viable. Markell’s early money will be needed against Carney and the Dem machine but now Levin would have write a personal check of 3 or 4 million dollars, the money he got from screwing Delaware when he sold Happy Harry’s stores.

  21. Sally Jane says:

Mike Protack’s health care plan is much better than Markell’s which will cost $110 million more than we pay now. Protack’s plan seems to cover everyone with private health care for the same amount we spend now.

    Levin’s plan is what exactly?

  22. disbelief says:

That settles it then. Markell vs. Protack. I wonder how close it’ll be?

  23. FSP says:

    Markell vs. Protack?

Dis. I’ve told you. There is no consolation round or third-place ballot in the Delaware Constitution.

  24. Al Mascitti says:

Worker Walt and Sally Jane, eh? Pretty lame fake names there, Mike Protack’s supporter.

  25. And both posted within five minutes of each other…hmm!

  26. Karen J says:

I’m a big believer in renewable energy and I think the GOP should open up to the guys like Mike Protack who appreciate the environment.

It’s the working class guys, not the rich silver spoon folks that really understand the environment.

I like Protack and his views. He’s authentic.
