Great work Terry!

Keep on rocking Priscilla !

The bad news, you have to dig the numbers out of this pile of “journalism.”

  1. Harry Porter says:

That’s because De. GOP has a lot of dead wood that are so yesterday. They believe all that Club for greed stuff but voters don’t buy into it. They continue to put up very flawed candidates that voters wont buy and do you think they would learn? Just turning the state into a one party state because of incompetence & arrogance.
You have candidates that want to run but they are not acceptable to chateu country so they are rejected and hung out by their thumbs.
These Neocons that have taken over the National party have infected other Republicans with brain rot and have turn logic on it’s head.
Wisdom is rejected and hatered is resected that’s where these little people with marginal brains come into play. Guys like Dave Burris. He will jump off a bridge like any good cadre would do when told to do so. That’s the sad state of the GOP in Delaware and National. The fish always stinks from the head. May the last Republican standing turn off the lights when they get beat because they can’t think on their feet.

  2. jason330 says:

I think that( in addition to all that) there were some major screw-ups in which they tried to become Rovian bastards. Dave Crossan did real damage to the few legit candidates that they did have by turning super negative.

They were thinking “well it worked for Bush.”

  3. Arthur Downs says:

The fish may well rot from the head down.

Failure to exploit issues is always a dangerous move.

  4. PI says:

    Feroce for Governor! YeeHaw!

  5. Harry Porter says:

Very astute observation Jason330. I wasn’t here at the time but from what one of my friends tells me that the Delaware GOP spent over 100,000 attacking Protack that could have neen spent promoting their excellent Attorney General Candiadte Ferris Wharton. What a blunder. I heard that brought out this old Judge to do radio ads. It seems to me that this Republican group spends a lot of time and money just trying to hold on to power? Am I wrong in this thought?
If I was involved I would sue them under RICO. You would see them fall like dominoes because it’s triple damages and attorney’s fee are recoverable as well.

  6. FSP says:

Protack trolls: You’ve got to find someone else to write this stuff. It all comes out with the same phrasing and cadence, no matter what name you use, or how you pretend to be “new” or a “Democrat.”

Seriously. If you’re going to keep it up, find someone else to do the actual writing. It’s getting boring.

  7. FSP says:

And I did exactly what I was told when I was threatened with God-knows-what before I released the Atkins letter. Yeah, I’m a real follower.

    Please.

  8. jason330 says:

    Harry –

That comment made me laugh out loud. It is a classic of the Pro-Protack genre.

bravo! It should outlive all of us.

  9. Long John says:

It appears the GOP is not the well oiled machine it used to be and can’t find candidates.

It’s no wonder why when you see the way the GOP HQ hacks skewer guys like Protack and Feroce who actually talk about things people care about and then butter up to the Greenville elites or drop the ball on the AG race with Ferris Wharton in 2006.

Did anyone know that the key race of the year for the GOP in 2006 was Wharton and his campaign manager was Dave Crossan who also was serving as GOP ED ( where Strine paid a lot of his salary) and also had a seriously ill wife? Yep, no one was running the campaign full time until two weeks after the primary.

The entire state and local GOP leadership needs to jump off a bridge. Too bad you referenced Celia Cohen.

If you read her column for enjoyment then you need to get a real life. Ron Williams and Celia Cohen get 80% of their inside scoop from Priscilla, she is johnny-one-note.

  10. FSP says:

See, like that. That was definitely written by a different Protack troll than the ones above. Thanks for listening.

Let’s have more of the “Long John” writer!! The finest Protack troll around!!

  11. Jennifer says:

Unfortunately for you Dave, Mike has a pretty good group that have decided to wake up because we’ve smelled the coffee you’re been brewing for a long time.
FSP trolls is more like it.
Delaware Liberal at least is fair and open to discussion and apparently gets a lot of readers from both parties. At least on this blog your comments are removed immediately like they are on your highly censored FSP, Fascist State Politics site.
    What’s the matter Dave?
    Can’t take a little debate.
Control freak. We all are praying that you do put your name on a ballot-the end result will destroy what is left of your diminishing self-proclaimed empire.
    You’re a loser Dave.
Go back and play with your own blog, the Fascist State Politics.

  12. I can tell you without a doubt most of those anti-DE GOP commenters are not Protack-trolls. Without…a…doubt.

  13. FSP says:

“Jennifer” – Don’t be mad because I like the other troll better and because even Jason identified you as a classic Protackian anonymous poster.

    And I don’t erase comments.

Let’s have a debate right here. You identify yourself and we can debate anything you like.

Quite funny to be called a loser by the supporter of a guy who has lost four elections and three conventions.

“Mike has a pretty good group”

Identify 10 of them by name.

  14. Sagacious Steve says:

While no doubt the State GOP has contributed to its own dim prospects, I think a greater share of the blame belongs to Dubya and the national GOP.

For all of its Chateau Country orientation, Delaware’s GOP traditionally was a fairly inclusive and moderate party. But the radical economic, environmental, religious, and foreign policy agenda as practiced by the national GOP and the Prevaricator-in-Chief has driven moderates and other people with a brain from its tent. The failure of that agenda has created a toxic atmosphere for prospective GOP candidates and even incumbent officeholders.

Since I’m not a ‘concern troll’, I will not presume to offer the GOP advice. Well, OK, just this one tiny exception: Incumbents, give up the ghost! You’ve already locked in your pensions! Do you really want to go out on your shields??

Now back to your regularly-scheduled propaganda, already in progress…take it away, ‘Tom Wilmington’, or is that ‘John Millsboro’?

  15. FSP says:

Sagacious Steve: Clearly critical, but clearly not a Protack troll.

  16. Long John says:

Dave, you are a sad and angry little man.
Your prescription of Viagra is waiting for you at Happy’s.

A loss within the GOP in the last ten years is no crime, there are tons and tons of Republicans who have lost in primary and general elections.

I have supported Mike Ramone 4 times in the last 8 years and he has lost every single time by increasing margins.

I think your Dad was the beneficiary of the two of the biggest thrashings in Delaware history and by the way, I recall that you were on the Protack team last year?

Dave you’re a really big man when you hide behind a computer screen.

Rest up and get your sorry butt up to the Elections department tomorrow and file.

You can help make Protack’s first GOP primary victory a huge one.

  17. FSP says:

    I’m 33 and I need Viagra?

Mike Ramone is an honorable man who ran honorable races and outperformed expectations against Coons and against Sokola the first time. He was asked again and again to run because of the quality of his personality.

Unlike Protack, my Dad actually EARNED the nomination to run statewide twice. Unlike Protack, he never finished third in a race for a legislative seat. In fact, he was never defeated in a race for the Legislature and became Majority Leader before he was my age.

Thrashing Protack is actually high on the list of reasons for me TO run.

By the way, you called me little and big in the same comment, moron. And accusing me of hiding behind a computer screen while you won’t give your name explains to everyone what an ignorant coward you really are.

  18. Bopeep says:

Well put long John. Dave is the front line moron on the ship of fools. He defends the GOP no matter what. Give this guy a few bucks and he will do anything. The GOP leadership has turned evil. Dave spreads hatered, suspicion and fear in his continueous propaganda network. They have become jokes to the democrats. Look at what they have produced, corporate welfare for people that don’t need it. I now see why little Dave is so hateful, all he does is hang around on blogs because elections don’t come out to good. He is in real estate and look where that’s at. Dave is pretty much a Jonna with everything he does. That’s what the GOP banks on little men with little brains. A desperate Group Of People.

  19. FSP says:

Ah, yes. I collapsed the real estate market, singlehandedly. You trolls are funny.

    Anytime, anywhere, trolls.

  20. Bopeep says:

Dave your old man gets his ass kicked every time he runs state wide. Your old man pushed asside Terry Spence in 2000 but the Judge stood up to him and lost in Kent County my 46 absentee ballots. He never erned that one you little story teller. Didn’t a big time banker bank roll that campaign along with that eatery you went bell up in? Come clean Dave. Tell these people what really happened in the year 2000.
If you run it should come out don’t you think?
2000 was a very bad year for the BURRIS people. Women voted against him 3 to 1 . A big time drudding. I wonder why? Tell them why little Dave. You know it all Dave? Dave the ALL KNOWING.

  21. Bopeep says:

Dave or FSP which ever, did you not ask some guy on another blog about the size of his pee pee? What the hell was that all about. Now I know you live in Rehoboth and all that but isn’t that some what strange for even you? Talk to me Dave and tell me what you ment by that?
    Please.

  22. Bopeep says:

    Atkins needs to come back.

  23. FSP says:

John — My Dad won the primary. He lost women 3-to-1 because he was running against a woman. My restaurants were bankrolled by me and by Wilmington Trust loans taken out by me, which were all paid back. Again by me.

Will there come a time that you make something up about me that actually sticks?

The “Dave got fired” thing didn’t stick.

The “Dave’s about to get fired” thing didn’t stick.

The “Dave’s wife is leaving him” thing didn’t stick.

The “Dave stole from the County GOP” thing didn’t stick.

    This stuff won’t stick either.

As far as your “Little Willie” alias on DWA, you insult me, I insult you. Live with it.

  24. FSP says:

    “Atkins needs to come back.”

Quit talking about yourself, John. I for one can’t wait for the drubbing that you’re going to get running as a Democrat.

  25. FSP says:

In fact, I wonder if you’ll even make it out of the primary. I can’t imagine the Dems would want a soulless, principle-free legislator now that they actually have a decent one.

  26. History Prof says:

I guess the biggest surprise with this discussion thread is “Dave-you’re 33?”

    Wow. That is a surprise.

    I figured at least 65.

  27. Real Deal says:

Gosh Dave, high on the list is trashing Protack? Now there is an honorable agenda for the future of Delaware.

You kind of glossed over how you wrecked two businesses no matter what the finances were but some how you know everything about creating jobs and you miss the simple fact that Mike Ramone lost many many times.
No one said he wasn’t a good guy-because he is – but honorable races and over performance are rationalizations only you could come up with.

Once again there is nothing on your plate except hate.

    No thanks.

Now you can go home and kick the cat.

  28. Bopeep says:

Stop talking about Senator Still Dave. He’s up for reelection and he’s going to get beat. Bad.
Beach Bunnies and GOP Senators don’t mix when he has a wife. But when Atkins runs, the GOP wont be able to raise any money because people don’t trust you guys any longer. You are all phoney. Well not all. But you are Dave. I want you to fall on your sword in November after you go down big time. Good night Dave. Fight with someone that has the time to baby sit your stupid ass.

  29. anon says:

Wilmington Trust loans taken out by me

Dave, you are the man! When I asked Wilmington Trust for a loan at about the same time, even though I was a little older and had a decent job, they blew me off.

    Go figure.

  30. ???? says:

Dave, sounds like BOpeep is the same writer as the pink post cards, which would exclude Atkins. I don’t think even he supported Protack? Did he?

  31. Jason O'Neill says:

The problem with the DE GOP is that we have lost our footing — “our mo-jo” — in how we govern. We are too focused on control 0n “who does it”, rather than “what we do”.

First, there is gross miscalculation by the DE GOP HQ that a candidate must be aristocratic, rich and play golf. That may work in Bevery Hills or solely on Route 52. But that won’t fly in 98% of the rest of the state.

The DE GOP has failed to embrace the Big Tent ideaology put forth by Barry Goldwater to embrace a wide spectrum of issues, beliefs and people to share their vision.

The (DE) GOP should also be focusing on all issues applying free-market conservative principles to solve them. We should be focusing adding wind farms and other environmental technologies to preserve our natural resources. We should be leveraging technologies such as Wi-Fi, and broadband across the state so that every child, family, business and school is connected (to the Internet) to succeed. We should using economic pooling in leveraging economies of scale, and using medical technologies to reduce the cost of health care.

Of course there is more… but this is a start.

  32. Al Mascitti says:

“The (DE) GOP should also be focusing on all issues applying free-market conservative principles to solve them.”

So no matter what the problem, the free market is the solution. Yet you think the problem with your party isn’t this lockstep, ideological purity — it’s the fact that some Republicans are rich and play golf.

It’s that sort of brilliance that makes me think Mike Protack would make a great candidate. Once he got his clock cleaned, you couldn’t really peddle this bullcrap anymore, could you, Jason O.? Of course, nobody’s buying it now, either, but because stores won’t stock it you can always claim to be the victim of a conspiracy.

  33. Jason O'Neill says:

Being rich should NOT be a criteria for running for office.

Being rich is a criteria put forth by the Greenville contingent of my party. It is wrong.

The DE GOP should be encouraging candidates to be more like Barry Goldwater and subscribe to the Big Tent idealogy.

Not all Republicans live in Greenville and live in mansions. I happen to be one who works 9-5, and is affected by rising taxes, medical costs and accelerated costs of goods (gasoline, food, etc).

This country has endured great success on innovation. Innovation has advanced our society and we can continue to do so with increased technology and focus. Wind farms are example of how technology can be utilized to provide energy diversification to Delaware. It is not a 100% solution, but it much better that what we have today. Add solar technology and now we are talking.

Companies such as Blue Water Wind will bring wind farms to Delaware, as should those marketing solar panels. Businesses and governments must work in harmony to solve problems. In doing so, you will create jobs and increase prosperity.

  34. Al Capone says:

Dave, why don’t you launch an online petition to support your campaign like Levin’s failure. I hear Pinocchio and Daffy Duck are ready to sign it and maybe Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will go for it also.

Maybe you can bankroll the petition like your failed business efforts and get fifty people to sign up.

I’ll even sign up like I did before.

  35. FSP says:

If I failed in business, why are three of my businesses still running, years after I sold them all at a hefty profit?

Nope. That one’s not sticking, either.

And I respect Jason’s loyalty and his willingness to stand on his own name, but I disagree strongly on statewide wi-fi. Most muni wi-fi projects have failed, and some have failed miserably.

  36. Al Capone says:

    Dave, a hefty profit?
You’ve always been for full disclosure. Let’s start with you.
Well how much did you make and what were the name of these profitable enterprises?
Please be precise unlike the usual BS you sling.
My guess is that if they are running well you are no longer involved. When will we see you at the Deptartment of Elections filing for office?

  37. FSP says:

“My guess is that if they are running well you are no longer involved.”

This, from the same crew that wanted to crucify Alan Levin for selling Walgreens and the place going to hell when he was no longer around.

    No disclosure to anonymous cowards.

  38. Al Mascitti says:

“Being rich should NOT be a criteria for running for office. Being rich is a criteria put forth by the Greenville contingent of my party. It is wrong.”

Actually, you are wrong. Chris Castagno is not rich. Ernie Lopez is not rich. The party runs plenty of people who aren’t rich. They just don’t think Mike Protack is a viable candidate for a top-of-the-ticket race, and nothing you or the trolls have ever said disproves that. Remember, if Mike ever runs against a Democrat, every one of his numerous shortcomings, from his lack of credentials to his inability to work well with others, will be highlighted. And there’s not much chance his campaign finance struggles would go uninvestigated.

  39. George says:

This is ridiculous. It’s obvious Protack has ratcheted up the anon commenting after Levin dropped out. I think Mike thought he had a clear shot at the nomination and he’s incredibly upset that others are getting involved.

Dave – why not run for State Chair of the party rather than Governor? Is it something you’ve thought about?

  40. George says:

Also, is that really John Atkins talking about things coming out about people? Hahahahaha…

I’ve heard more about you than I care to admit, and I don’t even live down in Sussex. I can’t imagine the garbage they have on you.

Just relax Atkins and swing low sweet chariot.

  41. Real Deal says:

Good old Al Mascitti, the man who loves France more than America.
Did you get your world view from writing that stellar restaurant column at the News Journal? You make Gerry Fulcher look like a Rhodes Scholar.
Keep it up, WILM is kicking your ass badly.

  42. Al Capone says:

Dave, with your clear record of villification, name calling and nastyness – why would anyone in Delaware want to expose themselves to that?

Your skin is as thin as your self-proclaimed support.

You’re a loser at 33. Took your daddy a few years to be a loser. You’re way ahead.

Appears there are many more Protrack “trolls” than you estimated.

You have made the claim many times that you can “expose” the trolls – go ahead – make our day!
