Obama Wins Georgia

The exit numbers on the Georgia win are huge for Obama.

A 3-to-1 margin.

He needed to win in GA and it looks like he won big.

COMMENT RESCUE:

I worked tonight at a Hockessin polling place as a party greeter. I was handing out generic Democratic lit to people after they voted, so I was asking which party they belonged to. I was surprised when Republicans wanted to talk about Obama. I probably talked to 80-100 people in the two hours I was there and at least 12 Republicans asked for Obama information. I didn’t have any to give them and we weren’t allowed to talk about candidates, but I gave them my card and told them to call tomorrow. This is fun! If they actually call I can talk to them about Obama AND Markell. Whoo Hoo!

    Mike has a good post up at DWA.

    It is not just liberal Democrats who want change. It is everyone.

    Change from Bush – change from the corrupt status quo Dems.

    People are just up in arms.

  6. Benjamin says:

  7. donviti says:

  8. donviti says:

    Well if tonight sounds anything like the exit polls I have seen I guarantee you I will be singing and dancing too … alone in my apartment.

  10. nemski says:

    i’m trying not to get too excited . . . the exit polls showing kerry winning are too fresh in my mind

  11. jason330 says:

    Sounds liek the R’s are just giving up on November and are just jockeying.

    Final:
    In the end, I think the Democrats have a better than 60-40 shot at winning in November (obviously not accounting for unforeseen circumstances) right now, and if my choice in my next president is really between Hillary and Barack, I’m going for Barack.

    That was Ryan …RYAN at Jokers to the right.

    25 minutes for DE

    Interesting results from GA exit polls:

    Clinton won 62 to 36 among white women, but only 49 to 46 among white men.

  14. jason330 says:

    Tom –

    What do our “super delegates” Tom Carper and RAM do if DE goes big for Obama?

  15. Benjamin says:

    @ Tommy

    Exact same thing happened in SC. Obama tied her for white men but it is the white women that ran her margin among whites.

    Guess *he* is not the identity candidate in this race (sorry it is harsh but I am mad at them so humor me).

  16. nemski says:

    The white women will come around . . . however the white men will not vote for Hillary.

  17. jason330 says:

    Not this white man anyway.

  18. Rebecca says:

    Outside North Star Elementary School in Hockessin tonight I got to talk to a lot of Republicans and they didn’t look happy. Nothing scientific about this, just my observation, and one even told me he was voting Republican today because he had to but he would be voting Democratic in November.

  19. Benjamin says:

    And not this white man either – although it has nothing to do with either my penis or my skin color.

  20. nemski says:

    @benjamin

    Come on, you can admit it, everything we do is because of our penis. LOL.

  21. jason330 says:

    Castle on on WDEL.

    Q: McCain/Huckabee ticket?

    A: he is good with it.

    What a putz.

  22. jason330 says:

    Huckabee slips his head out of the noose:

    * Alabama: Huckabee 42 percent, McCain 33 percent, Romney 20 percent
    * Tennessee: Huckabee 34, McCain 28, Romney 23
    * Arkansas: Huckabee 33, McCain 21, Romney 19
    * Georgia: Huckabee 34 percent, Romney 31 percent, McCain 30 percent

  23. nemski says:

    Watching the Republican primaries is like watching a car crash in slow motion.

  24. Benjamin says:

    @nemski

    Well, you are right. Obama IS good-looking like that … 😉

  25. nemski says:

    On American Idol, Joshua makes it while singing with his back to the judges, because he has “demon” eyes.

  26. Rebecca says:

    When ya stand outside the polls and talk to people you develop some rules of thumb for identifying the R’s and D’s. Out here in Hockessin there are a lot more R’s than D’s and if you are handing out D lit you need to I.D. those D’s, so it’s fun to play the game.

    The guy in the big Mercedes didn’t want the D lit.

    The Mom in the HUGE Denali didn’t want the D lit. I’d never stood next to a Denali before, they are amazing. I’m betting 8 miles to the gallon.

    The guy in the DuPont racing jacket didn’t want the D lit.

    The guy on the Harley told me his party affiliation was none of my business. Ya wanna make something of it? I didn’t.

    The amazingly out-of-touch snotty housewife was an arrogant and rude Republican. And I’d even worn my preppy-clothes, counterfit Gucchi loafers and fake diamonds to make these people feel comfortable. But the “Dems 08” button made her seeth. Of course, I’d have been seething too if I’d just had to vote for one of the Republican losers. Still, I guess she didn’t get the memo that Americans are tired of being divided and rude to each other.

    Polls are closed!

  27. Benjamin says:

    New estimates for DE (this time extrapolated and yada yada) 46.6 for O – 42.5 for C

  28. Rebecca says:

    MSNBC calling Tennessee for Clinton. No percentages yet.
