Bad Democrats Like Tom Carper Who Ignore Their Constituents Can Be Removed through primaries.

Filed in National by on February 13, 2008

It took Donna Edwards two tries in order to get it done, but she knocked off a real “Tom Carper Democrat.

When our incumbent Democrats put the best interests of lobbysists and corporatins above the best interests of the voters, as Tom Carper has done, they need to be removed. Donna Edwards reminds us that it can be done.

A thought: The Democratic primary in Delaware is now basically the general election.

I really think an insurgent campaign dedicated to ousting Caper could work in since the a low turn out election would take away Carper’s name recognition.

    Yeah Donna Edwards!

Carper doesn’t run again until 2012. That’s a lot of time to prepare.

It will be here in the blink of an eye.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to tell what the mood is going to be in 2012. If the pendulum keeps swinging in its current direction, he could be vulnerable, but who knows what either party will look like by then?

    Al –

Additionally, Carper could start voting in the best interest of his constituents instead of his large corporate contributors and monkeys could fly out of my ass.

In other words I’m not optimistic. Carper has gone back to his strategy of writing HUGE earmarks and corporate welfare bills in the form of tariff subsidies for contributors which gives you some insight into where his heart lies.

  6. Al Mascitti says:

I agree, I don’t expect him to change. The question is whether the electorate will be more or less polarized by the end of a first Obama, Clinton or McCain administration. I’m taking Gilchrest’s loss on the Eastern Shore as evidence that GOP hardliners, despite the obvious consequences, are convinced they must tack harder to the right. They’re setting a course straight for the rocks, and who knows what will happen once they realize their “popular” positions have no popular support.

I think Carper is a wet paper towel who will bend to whatever the next administration wants. If it’s Pres. Obama, and Obama turns out to be a corporatist, then Carper can just keep doing what he’s doing forever.

Back in the day (when I was in YDs) we used to call him the ‘wind up Ken doll’….he was a fake Dem then, he is still a DINO, and I believe he will always be a right wing mo’hooker.
