Clinton touts her experience with guns

VALPARAISO, Indiana (CNN) — Hillary Clinton appealed to Second Amendment supporters on Saturday by hinting that she has some experience of her own pulling triggers.

“I disagree with Sen. Obama’s assertion that people in our country cling to guns and have certain attitudes about trade and immigration simply out of frustration,” she began, referring to the Obama comments on small-town Americans that set off a political tumult on Friday.

She then introduced a fond memory from her youth.

“You know, my dad took me out behind the cottage that my grandfather built on a little lake called Lake Winola outside of Scranton and taught me how to shoot when I was a little girl,” she said.

    Shoot what?
“This is my rifle, this is my gun!”

Yep, she’s now Charlton Heston sans the dick. Or, maybe Annie Oakley with a strap-on.
Well, her husband has turned out to take care of that problem all by himself.

Who knows, the scenario changes daily.

And why is Mark Penn still lurking about behind the scenes? He wasn’t fired, just demoted and out of sight (which is a God send all by itself) but people are noticing and She’s not stepping up. Just tap dancing and pointing to shiny objects to change the subject.

Stick a fork in her, she’s done.

I don’t know. Seems to me that a woman who really knows her way around a gun doesn’t have a husband who is stepping out on her. Hey, I could be wrong tho 😉

    I like <a href=”http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/04/obama-fires-bac.html”>Obama’s response :

“I expected this out of John McCain. But I’ve got to say, I’m a little disappointed when I start hearing the exact same talking points coming out of my Democratic colleague Hillary Clinton,” he said. “She knows better. Shame on her!”
“This is the same person who has taken more money from lobbyists than any other candidate, Democratic or Republican… the same person who took money from financial folks on Wall Street, and then voted for a bankruptcy bill that makes it harder for folks right here in Pennsylvania to get a fair shake… the same person who spent a decade with her husband campaigning for NAFTA, and now goes around saying how she was opposed to Nafta,” he said.

“This is the same person who says she’s voting for the Colombia trade deal, turns out that her top adviser, her top strategist was working for the Colombian government to get the bill passed! Does that sound like she’s in touch with you?”

So that’s why the snipers didn’t fire at her when she got off the plane in Bosnia. They heard ol’ Sure Shot Hillary was packing.

Taking bets now for how long it takes the media to latch on to the fact that HRC was a major headliner at the Million Moms March — a march whose goal was to argue for gun control.

  6. Dana says:

Both Senatrix Clinton and Senator Obama are looking for votes amonst us rubes in the Pennsyltucky backwoods, so nat’rly they’re gonna tell us ’bout the guns they love.

The junior senator from Illinois told us, a month or so ago, that he thinks that the Second Amendment refers to an individual right to own guns, but that right is restricted by “common sense” things. It would be interesting to ask him what “common sense” restrictions he thinks belong on the freedom of speech.

I guess that some rights are more rightful than others.

Hillary’s pandering reminds me of something that Robert Christgau, critic par excellence of the Village Voice, once wrote about a band that tried on each new fad like a suit of clothes and tried to milk it for commercial success: “If and when polka stages a comeback, the Electric Prunes will be in the forefront of the polka-rock movement.”

Just had to sneak that quote in somewhere…
