Howard Dean to Joe Biden: Enough Already!

Perhaps in response to last night’s debacle in which ABC news shilled for McCain for two hours, Dean tells superdelegates to cut the bullshit.

An increasingly firm Howard Dean told CNN again Thursday that he needs superdelegates to say who they’re for – and “I need them to say who they’re for starting now.”

“We cannot give up two or three months of active campaigning and healing time,” the Democratic National Committee Chairman told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “We’ve got to know who our nominee is.”

Kos Diarists DHinMI says…

Those numerate in delegate math know that Hillary Clinton cannot become the Democratic nomination unless Barack Obama is so damaged by some unforeseen event that he has to give up his lead and drop out of the race. There’s just about no conceivable scenario in which that will happen, but Hillary Clinton and her surrogates have been trying to keep wavering superdelegates from endorsing Barack Obama by arguing that he can’t win in November. Their strategy has been to prolong the race and hope for Obama to destruct.

Last night Clinton disclosed that she felt Obama could beat McCain. So where is Delaware?

Minner: Clinton
Carper: Probably Clinton
Biden: ?

Minner has spoken. Carper is a DLC low life loser so his picking Clinton will not be a surprise. Biden’s endorsement of Obama on the other hand could be newsworthy. When Richardson endorsed Obama it made the news because Bill Clinton said it was a stab in the back. If Biden endorses it would be seen as an elder statesman tyoe endorsement and could tip other wavering superdelegates to Obama.

Tim Smith Opens Campaign With Blistering Attack on Mike Castle

I say “GO TIM GO!”

Fixing Washington’s Broken System

Our nation needs real leadership and vision to solve the serious problems that we face in today’s changing world. Congress has lost touch with the average American family’s needs and concerns. Now more than ever, we need leaders who will stand up for the values and principles that shaped our country’s foundation. Delaware does not need more career politicians or Washington insiders. Tim understands the struggles of our state’s families and will truly be a voice of the people.

Take that Mike Castle you fraud!!
Tim Smith is gunning for your ass!

Government spending is out of control, and if proposals being discussed right now in Washington were to take effect, families would be pinched even more. Tim will promote policies that create new opportunities for future generations instead of burdening them with debt.

POW!! Smith hits Castle right in the kisser. This Tim Smith is my kind of Republican.

I emailed called Castle’s office for a response to Smith calling him out like this, and I’ll pass along whatever I get back.

Free Market BABY….YEEEEEEHAAAAAAAWWWWW

Awesome!

So if I read this right.  I should be able to claim taxes against my income from 2004…again.  SWEET!

In the Senate bill, the nation’s biggest home builders, some now on the verge of bankruptcy, won a provision that would let them claim millions in tax refunds by charging their current losses against the huge profits they made three or four years ago. Other struggling industries would benefit from this provision.

Downtrodden automakers — Ford and General Motors — were especially dogged in securing a tax break that would let them collect alternative minimum tax credits, also known as the A.M.T., that would otherwise be out of reach because they did not pay enough taxes in recent years to claim a rebate.

If the provision becomes law, it could mean checks up to $40 million for the car manufacturers, as long as the companies had made investments in plant or equipment in that amount

Keep telling me everything is fine with your government people. I wonder how our MODERATE buddy Mr. McImmunity Castle will be voting?

and now a word from your pResident

‘In a world where some invoke the name of God to justify acts of terror and murder and hate, we need your message that God is love,’ Bush said. ‘In a world where some treat life as something to be debased and discarded, we need your message that all human life is sacred. . . . In a world where some no longer believe that we can distinguish between simple right and wrong, we need your message to reject this dictatorship of relativism. . . . In a world where some see freedom as simply the right to do as they wish, we need your message that true liberty requires us to live our freedom not just for ourselves, but in a spirit of mutual support.’ . .

Pandora’s Prediction

I predict that last night’s debate ends up helping Obama in the polls. I base this prediction on Hillary’s win in New Hampshire, the Rev. Wright controversy, and bitter-gate. Any takers?

I agree with the Pope!

“Any tendency to treat religion as a private matter must be resisted,” he said.

AMEN and ALLAH AKBAR to you my friend!

here’s why I do….ALL religions need to be discussed in public. Can you imagine if Van Goh wasn’t murdered on the street because he drew a picture of Mohammed? Can you imagine being able to discuss abortion, IVF and stem Cell research in public without being shot down as immoral, godless and unpatriotic? It will allow the believers to be subject to further criticism. There won’t be anymore of this Religion is Private Crap that has completely backfired on us. Because we want it out of government liberals are evil…So I agree with the Pope in a way, I don’t agree with his slightly veiled way of saying Islam needs to be discussed, but ALL religions.

and this guys book, The Secular Conscience is a great read that totally supporst the Pope

Daydreaming About Being Paid To Blog

I’ve been thinking about business models and blogging.

Their are only two feasible ways to make local/state blogging a decent job (in other words, not a Kos or an Eschaton).

One would be to win the powerball lottery and create a foundation that could pay for 4 or 5 full-timers out of the interest from a $30 million endowment.

The other would be to start young and go solo becoming a kind of blogging monk with no family or earthly desires.

Under the monk model online ads and/or contributions could pay for the web space.

Can you say Autism?

Yes, we have that nice little widget over there that is getting a little attention these days.  I personally thank everyone who has donated and wish everyone luck on the upcoming walk.  The next little post has very little to do with Autism, but if you know anything about Autism, then you also know very little is known about what “causes” it.  So read the below article and you tell me if things like this should be left to chance.

Isn’t there something wrong with our Country when China bans a chemical found in baby bottles and the liners of baby formula before we do?  Canada is about too as well.

Is this, you conservatives out there, your idea of Free Market Capitalism?   After a few million kids contract cancers, maybe become autistic and grow three legs from this stuff oozing out of their baby bottles another company will stop using the supposedly benign  substance and the other companies will be forced to not use BPA or go out of business.  Supply and Demand.  Free market.  woohooo.  Continue reading
