The Future of Neato Shit

Filed in Uncategorized by on May 8, 2008

I’m not ashamed to say that part of the reason I’d like to get this off shore wind power park deal done is because I was raised at a time when THE FUTURE was a phrase that was steeped in optimism and had an almost mystical significance.

I thought that by now there was going to be a lot of neato shit around and as I look around I see none of it.

Sorry, Jason. I didn’t mean to step on your really cool post.

And your belief and dedication to wind power is inspiring.

Here’s some neato shit, they just put it underground.

Make sure you take the photo tour.

And oh yes, it’s in Europe.

Indeed! The box that lets you do all of this blogging is more computer power than the moon landing project had. And that project was designed by people with fins on their cars.

I was going to say “except for my lap top” but the computer did not enter my childhood imagination.

It was all “Hilton Hotels on the moon”, Entire Cities Under the Sea” and “Mass Transportation”.

Speaking of the moon landing…..I am very optimistic that there will be amazing stuff, more than you can imagine. Holographic video and all kinds of innovation in information storage.

More than that, I think Tesla and Xu Tianfu as well as Hui have the right ideas for energy production that will be coming online in China in the next 20-30 years or so. Imagine the energy of light nuclei unleashed as a permanently reneawable atomic power source or Helium-3.

And by 2025 China plans to be mining the moon.

Here is the presenatation of the project to build a massive bridge across Weihai Bay and to other areas…. it reminds me of your picture.

We seem to be obsessed with the idea that this future without so much reliance on oil can be slowed down or stopped….but in reality it cannot. We may not do it, and choose to stay in the oil age, but it will happen in the not too distant future.

I think my comment with the cool video got lost….

  9. cassandra_m says:

Jason or LG will be around shortly to retrieve your comment, Brian.

  10. Brian says:

Thanks Cassandra I have video of a phase I presentation of a project underway that looks like the picture above.

Check out what the Saudi’s are doing with their petrodollars…..this is some cool stuff.

  12. Al Mascitti says:

    Uh-oh. I still like fins on cars…

  13. cassandra_m says:

I am just glad I am not living anywhere near that bridge. Living at either end of bridge designed to be part of a music and light show would make anyone crazy.

  14. Brian says:

That is just for the presentation…. I am sure it would be something like that though, the thing that is cool about the project is the central tower is its power source. And here is a good one of what our Saudi friends do with Petro dollars….

LG My last comment got lost again, it has another cool engineering video….

Here’s a neato scientific place in the US and is actually above ground. Wanna build a star in in California?
